After I saw the fight with I noticed that Vic is becoming a more complete fighter ever since he lost to Donaire. Now that his skills have improved,
Who do you think would win in a rematch?
IMO I think that Vic now has the skill to beat Donaire by knocking him out what do you guys think?
If a chess game was annotated like one player played "adventurous" in the opening, it meant he deviated, he went against the book lines, he played a novelty, out of the norm.
Sorry to burst you bubble...
No, it means it would be a dangerous, risky or an uncertain move, you're trying to link in adjectives until you come out with your own words.
Second your sentence is wrong, you cant play "adventurous". That's a noun.
You are using a noun to describe a verb. You meant adventurously
, that would make it an adverb and then it would correspond with your sentence.
Why do I even bother?
You know what since it means so much to you, adventurous means whatever your brilliant little head wants it to be.
No probably you are the one that needs to educate yourself, you cannot call Donaire adventurous given the simple fact that he's not inclined to choose his fights, his manager does.
And no adventurous does not mean out of the norm.
Look it up.
Look bottom line Donaire is a good fighter but that was then, Vic has shown a lot of progress. Do you think Donaire could have taken on Mijares and beaten him in a similar fashion? Just because Vic lost to him once doesn't mean he'll do so again. Just look at Pac, Morales beat the sh1t out of him and their rematch was whole different story. Maybe if you were a little open minded you would see that Vic has a chance in defeating Donaire.
You forget the fact that Donaire knocked Vic out with one punch. He will beat him again.
I guess you have a compulsion about being right... sad
The objective of these threads are not to see who is right or wrong but to discuss possibilities.
First of all I don't believe I have a deep boxing knowledge, you did by what you said mockingly in your last thread. My point was that in some instances when a boxer moves up in weight sometimes they loose some speed.
Donaires best attribute is his speed, and I'm just wondering if he goes up in weight again will that affect him speed wise.
I'm beginning to think you are biased, possible because he is one of your countrymen? You've given almost no credit towards Vic.
Just to be fair, Vic's style is tailor made for Donaire, but he is devastating against almost anybody. He did improved his defense, and his movements, but not to sway me around if he decide to fight Nonito again. His weaknesses are still there, and I think Nonito is the man who can exploit Vic's weaknesses, I have a feeling Gary Shaw feels the same way too.
We will never know if Donaire's style is tailor made for somebody until he meets that boxer in the ring. It could Montiel or Mares or somebody else lurking around the gyms somewhere, but that Vic/Nonito fight was so conclusive to me that I couldn't see it going any other way.
But what do we know in boxing? That's why they fight the fights...
any fighter who knocked out another fighter should be favored to win in a rematch unless it was a lucky punch that won for him or the loser had an off night. in the case of donaire and darchinyan, the punch that ko vic was a well timed left hook and he was losing the fight even before the ko came.
Like I said, you got deep boxing knowledge. Nonito is not going up in weight, he's going back to his original fighting weight.
You just proved my point by firing back. Thank you!

Sorry boxing guru...:lol1:
Not all fighters benefit from moving up in weight, some gain strength while loosing a lot of speed and vice-versa. There have been a lot of fighters that have tried to move up in weight and failed at it.

They all seem all sold out to Vic's the only one who gains something by going up. That tells a lot to their deep boxing knowledge...

I feel sorry for you son, tsk tsk tsk...
I wasn't aware that I was talking to a 12 year old. "Adventurous" means a lot of things, it might mean out of the norm. Nonito was bolder than any of Vic's previous opponents, who usually just lay down and die, after tasting Vic's power.
What the hell am I explaining it anyway? You're probably watching the Disney channel at this time...

some of you guys are foregetting although Nonito is fighting now at a lower weight he is the bigger man compared to vic...
everything that vic gain by going up like power and resilience, nonito will also gain...
now we fans need to beat the drums and call for the rematch !!

Do you guys think Donaire would've done the same to Mijares, I don't think so. And if you guy study the Vic fight you notice that he uses the left hook less often. Anyways if there was ever a rematch do you think Vic is going to use that left hook as much?
Then Nonito's right will do the damage this time. There's youtube or tko24.com for your perusal in case you only saw 1 or 2 Nonito fight. He ended most of his previous fights with his right, that was Al Berstein was expecting too when he fought Vic, son...

The only thing that would convince me that Darchinyan would win a rematch...
is if Darchinyan rematched Donaire and beat him. Anything else is just talk and it doesn't seem like Shaw wants to make the rematch happen.
What I saw was that Darchinyan is still vulnerable to the left hook because of where he keeps the right hand. Darchinyan has looked good in his recent fights but they've been against styles that aren't similar to Donaire's. Donaire is a rangy counterpuncher, I still think he'd exploit Darchinyan's wide punching arcs.
Nonito is a different animal, he showed no fear against Vic, and Vic got him good a couple of times, but Nonito just shrugged it off and kept coming at Vic. Darchi has never seen anyone like Nonito, he's younger, faster, quicker, longer and more daring/adventurous than any of his previous opponents. He's a thinking fighter and adjust very well to what the job at hand requires.
It will be sweet dreams for Vic all over again, Gary knows it, I know it, and more than half of BSers knows it too...

Nonito has fought anyone like Mijares.
Vic ain't packing shit. He landed flush shots on Donaire and Nonito didn't get fazed.
On the other hand, Nonito wobbled Darchinyan several times in their fight.
Yeah.. True dat.. But Vics punches looks sooo much more vicious.
