i always root for guys from nj/ny/ct/northeast, but i don't see how you can't like sheika. all the sheika fights i've seen have been very entertaining and action packed. roy is a legend, but i hope my man omar pulls it off. i'd love to see him grab a belt before he retires.
He is more known as they guy that lost to the Famous British Tomato Can called Tony Booth, who lost 105 (was KO'd 38) fights.
RJJ gotta be desperate fighting this guy, no (real) money involved, no credibility to acchieve either. I fail to see why he's fighting this journey man other for the reason that he wants to end his career with a KO win, lol.
Sheika is a good, solid fighter, never been an amazing talent but he can fight. I don't know how someone can condemn a fighter over a fight they haven't seen but whatever.
Sheika has some good wins, like Glen Johnson, Onwar Oshana and Stephane Oullette and earned three title opportunities. His fight with Lacy was a real war.
I have never even heard of this thing called Omar Sheika. Who the f is Omar Sheika???

I saw Sheika spar at the Passaic PAL a few weeks ago, he still has a lot let and he still has good speed. I don't think Jones will stop him.
