Miguel Cotto -vs- Andre Berto? Official Poll!

People are so sleeping on Berto. You guys are misreading boxing. Collazo is a bigger guy and is a Southpaw. I said before that fight that I wouldnt put a young inexperinced guy in with an experinced slick southpaw. It was just a bad matchup for a young guy with Collazo being a lefty and on top of that Collazo is way better then people give him credit for. You guys are crazy if you think Cotto will walk through Berto. Besides, who else is Berto going to fight? The division is that deep. You could easily just as well lose to the 10th place guy in the division as you could lose to the 1st so you might as well go for the guy with probably the biggest name, who brings money, and was just KO so he isnt as sure of himself. I think Berto could give Cotto hell. Plus, he saw what Mosley did to Cotto and probably think that he has a style similar to Mosley that could give Cotto some problems. Dont think this kid isnt ready just because he struggled with Collazo. Thats a style thing and being inexperinced with Southpaws. He can definatly challange Cotto I agree it is better to lose to Cotto than it is to a Cintron however. Although Collazo may be bigger physically Cotto hits bigger, I think this is a bad fight for Berto.

Judah and Berto both have excellent handspeed but, I think Judah has faster movement/agility. I consider Berto to be a bit more stationary and squared up. Also, I think Berto is easily more powerful than Judah. With that said though, I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar result. With a surprisingly competitive early going turning clearly in Cotto's favor as the fight progresses. Yea, I'm not saying they are completely similar. But Cotto has trouble with speed sometimes. I think, like you said, it would be competitive early. Cotto would be a little hesitant after eating a few fast combination. But he would gradually wear Berto down like he did Judah to a late round KO.

berto and dibella have come out before asking for this fight - but things were lined up at that previous point and it was just talk. now that there's a vacancy and they're still talking - you have to take them seriously. dibella works well with arum and the fighters mesh up well for an exciting fight; berto will probably make his first 7 figga pay day with this one; although arum will suggest that berto doesn't warrant a million dollar payday. it's all about the money in this one - berto and dibella are serious. the wbc belt does mean a lot; that green is precious material.
