I just spoke to my sister's boyfriend who works for the Justice Department in California. He said that they are in the preliminary stages of forming a commitee to investigate the Margarito v. Mosley fight. Apparently, an overwhelming amount of the pre-fight action was put on Mosley. He said that these 'smart money' wagers are common, although two factors have piqued the Justice Department's interest.
First, the amount of the wagers placed on Mosley was in great dispaity to the number of them. He said when alot of small wagers are made immediately prior to the fight they can be more easily dismissed as 'smart money' than a handful of very large ones. On Saturday, six separate Las Vegas casinos took wagers on Mosley at approximately 7:26 PST (right before the fight) totaling more than two million dollars.
Second, the FBI in Southern California has been investigating for some time the Arellano Drug Cartel's dealings with a number of athletic events, including boxing. The Arellano family has apparently kidnapped and held at ransom the wife or children of certain fighters in an effort to get that fighter to fix the fight. A former member of Margarito's management named Roberto Ramos is currently under investigation for being associated with the Arellano cartel.
Is it possible that Margarito threw the fight? I'm sure we'll being hearing more about this.
I was shocked as well thats why i made this thread..http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242636... maybe people were still shocked that he lost by KO..
Hopefully more info will come out when the comission reaches its conclusion. Maybe the whole dive thing is the reason this is taking so long.. That would blow the boxing world away!
Seriously?? I mean 30 people actually voted yes.... really???
If he was going to take a dive i think he would have done it a lot earlier and not take all those fcuking punches to the cranium

Interesting post, nothing would shock me.
Irrefutable photographic evidence that Margarito took a dive:

What's caca is the fact that you paid that much to watch DLH/Pac and then posted the ticket in your sig. Now that's caca.

Good read, nice revelation but I doubt anyone throwing a fight would take such a prolonged sustained punishment. It is easier to fake disorientation and just go down.. He was getting hit by a bunch of massive punches that he coulda faked a ko at anytime with... He stood their and kept going and did not quit.. Nah, he didn't throw the fight... He sucked bad... I never believed the hype about him. I though he had C+ skills with a A+++++ chin...And plus anyone trying to take a dive would not have cement in his gloves like Marge did.
It sounds like you like writing nonsense for the fact of writing. You don't give examples to support your nonsense. You're stating alot of obvious shit and not looking outside the lines. Or you're looking outside the lines but avoiding it.
Haha I'm sure of it.
So which gang was it that threatened Margarito's life again? Or was it the Commies?
Did you read this article? Never once was Margarito implicated in a fixed fights scandal. The article was centered around Margarito preparing for a fight while Top Rank was under investigation for funny fights.
Nope... and I hoped you weren't going to either
After the Cotto fight Mosley was all about the Margarito fight. Granted before that Margarito was a high risk/low reward fighter. But Mosley went out there and showed the perfect game plan, which was to whip his opponent's ass.
