Another of Margarito's excuses

ANTONIO MARGARITO tuvo que bajar 35 libras en seis semanas para su combate ante Shane Mosley y ese sacrificio físico, según su comanejador Francisco Espinosa, le pasó factura la noche del sábado. Espinoza aseguró que Margarito no estaba en su mejor condición frente a Mosley, pero al mismo tiempo, no le restó méritos a la victoria del estadounidense. “Margarito no estaba ahí anoche (sábado). Todo el que conoce a Tony sabe que siempre va bien preparado y ayer (sábado) lo vimos muy débil”, indicó Espinosa al conversar telefónicamente con PRIMERA HORA desde California. “No hay que quitarle el crédito a Mosley. Hizo una buena pelea. Mantuvo un doble jab con buenas derechas que entraron en todo momento, pero de verdad que Margarito no era el mismo. Aceptamos nuestros errores y seguimos adelante”, subrayó. Espinosa confirmó que la esquina quería detener el encuentro luego del octavo asalto, pero el propio Margarito pidió que no lo hicieran. “Luego del encuentro, fuimos al hospital para una evaluación rutinaria y gracias a Dios, salió bien. Esperamos recuperarnos de esta derrota y pasar la página”, sentenció. co manager said that margarito had to lose 35 pounds in 6 weeks. i guess the 6 months laid off was bad for him. cotto had the same lay off and he was 170 when he came to camp so margarito was well over 180 pounds when he went to camp. so much for always training hard

The real excuse was the following: "I got caught cheating in my plaster handwrap by Nazim Richardson" and that my friend is a shame for tijuana and all mexican fans. Followed by a big question mark on his tko over Cotto.:afro:

Mosley was just ready for him. Mosley is a much more durable fighter than Cotto. Mosley wasn't afraid to mix it up with him and fighting in close. Mosley fought the perfect fight. He used every weapon he had to win the fight, he boxed when he needed to, mixed it up when he had to.

You tend, to look slower than you are against a speedy fighter. And everybody knows, why his punches were weaker!!!!!!!!!!!! margarito's punches always look slow i remember watching the 2nd fight with cintron and thinking damn margarito's punches come off slow. shane has to be the fastest fighter margarito has ever fought thats probably y he might look slower to some but it was the same margarito

Cotto this Cotto that, Margarito is a one hit wonder Margo cheato beat him with cement wraps, hes a fluke why cant you admit that I know everyone, keep bringing up Cotto fans, by the way Im a semi Cotto fan he still needs to awe and shock me Thats the thing I never cheered for Margarito because he was the best. I cheered for him because he's so flawed as a boxer and at the same time he's such a likeable guy. He beat some good welterweights that had twice the skill he did on sheer will and guts. How can anyone not like that? Is there anything wrong with that and why can't you just respect my opinion? I think by now you would of figured out that not all boxing fans like the same fighters that you do.

his punches did look about the same to me. After watching the fight vs mosley and vs cotto back to back he looked to be about the same size power and speed wise. Its just shane making him look like a club fighter. The jab confused or annoyed the shit out of marg and i know he didnt like being pushed around. He was used to being the bully but he never expected mosley to be as strong or fast as he was that night

Im a Margarito fan and Tony looked in shape and Im just gonna be classy about the loss unlike Cotto fans who can't be gracious losers. The better man won on Saturday no excuses and Shane deserves the win especially being the only person ever to hurt Tony like that.

Margarito can give all the excuses he wants for why he lost so badly, but the bottom line is that he had plenty of time to prepare for this fight. Any boxer at that level knows that they can't afford to gain too much weight between fights. Plus since he was caught using plaster with his wraps totally discredits any wins he's had before as far as I'm concerned. I used to be a fan of his, but now that I know he tried to cheat how can I have any respect for him? Think about how badly Cotto got cut. What if he used plaster with his wraps for that fight?? We'll never know.. Mosley has always been one of my all-time favorites.. I'm happy that he won, but now I'm even more glad of the beating and humiliation Margarito got.. He deserved it..

By the way I box too, and I fight kind of like a a southpaw DLH.(not that Im comparing my skill to his that would be stupid, just the style!!!!!)Im right handed but I fight as a southpaw!!!!!!!!!!! Huh thats crazy. But if thats how your comfortable more power to you I hate fighting southpaws, cuz my feet get tangled up w/ their feet. I tried fighting southpaw once but its not pretty.

Marg has always been p4p the slowest fighters in boxing, now you say he looked slower than normal? No, thats how slow he has always been. Ur a dumba$$ shawn. I know he is slow but in the SSM fight he looked slower than he normally does. Do you understand p.s. shouldn't you be making your BS training tutorial vids.

2 different scenarios tho bro.. Cotto wouldn't tie Margs up that was in rd 5(my sig) where Margarito began to turn the heat up in his arsenal.. in my mosley sig..Margarito was out on his feet already..he was swinging in survival mode!..fight should've ended in the previous round with the first KD... I agree. when i said look at your sig............ i meant your upper sig not the bottom.

I dont hate Margo at all. he is a pleasing fan fighter. But i lost respect for the cheating. I tried to explain something, and you can with the "Atleast he took his beating like a man and didnt quit on his knees" If you dont want people to talk shit, then, dont do it yourself. By the way i dont have anything against you. Well i lost some respect too, but just a lil until i find out the test results of the "plaster like substance". By the way I have nothing against PR or Cotto. I actually said even though marg beat cotto............. cotto should still be above marg on the p4p list. I like cotto cuz he isn't just a one dimensional fighter he is overall skilled. I think the reason i like marg so much is cuz im mexican and when i started boxing, I boxed just like marg, but then my trainer made me more of a overall skilled fighter.
