Seriously, some of his fans are trying to say that he didnt look right but he looked the exact same to me. I mean none of us know the full truth about his gloves and I guess we'll find out about that soon enough but everything else was the exact same. Even though Shane was clearly killing him, there were times in the 3rd, 7th, and a couple of other rounds where you could see that he was walking through some punches, coming fast, and delivering some shots but Shane easily countered him every single time and any time you hit Shane he will always try to come right back.
d
I mean how did he look any different then he did in his other fights? The only difference was that Mosley never ever gave him a chance to make a comeback or surge. As good as Cintron, Clottey, Cotto, Williams, and Santos are, Ive seen all those guys fade late a bunch of times, even in there wins. Mosley doesnt do that. People act like Margarito was doing so much early against good boxers like Williams, Clottey, Santos, and Cotto. They were beating him too but except for maybe Clottey, all the other guys were on the move. Thats why Clottey was killing him more then anyone because he stood toe to toe with him and was killing him until something happend, whatever you think that is. The Mosley fight was basically the same.
It may didnt look like Margarito was right because he wasnt walking Shane down and stuff but he didnt have to because Shane didnt go anywhwere. Thats what looked different. If Shane stays on the move all night then the fight looks alot different but instead he brought the fight to Margarito which you can tell totally shocked him and his trainers. Even in the pre fight interview he said that he expects Mosley to try to move and box alot but eventually he will find him. He had no clue that Mosley would actually come to him and try to go toe to toe. Its just like people saying Pavlik didnt look right. It was just a bad matchup for those guys. They didnt fight or look any different. Its like Tito vs Hopkins.
You'd think Margarito might have lost his concentration a bit way back in the locker room before the fight, seeing the boxing comission personnel take evidence to be examined and having to be wrapped up 3 times. I guess it wasn't exactly part of the plan. But no excuses, what was taken/done in the ring is what counted and Sugar Shane knew what he had to do and he went in and did it.
exactly, Cotto never clinched Margarito at all in their fight. Cotto himself said that he had too much pride to hold or that thats not his style or something, but hey its part of boxing.
Yup. Exhibit A of how Cotto's a ****in moron. I hate macho pride bullshit. I love Floyd cause he didn't give a ****. He didn't care what he looked like as long as he got the W.
There was a big difference from the Cotto fight and the Mosley fight that people seem to ignore. Margarito wasn't throwing 70-100 punches a round. He fought at Mosley's pace and never got into his rhythm, that along with Shane's body attack, ultimately proved to be Margarito's downfall.
Cause every time he would begin to get going Shane tied him up.
I do think he had some issue with weight. But I think Shane had more to do with the fight than Tony's weight issue.
I don't know, I think a lot of it was Shane, but something about him looked different. He looked even slower, he was lunging even more. I dont know, its hard to tell what was Margarito being different and what parts of it was Shane.
The more I think about it, the more I think it was more of what Shane was doing.
I somewhat agree with you,Shane had all he needed to know about him from previous figths from other guys who tried to counter and outbox him but failed from various reasons(Cotto,Cintron,Clottey etc).Shane is still super fast, probably the fastest in the division still,it was way easier for him to counter Margarito but without Nazim I don't think he could have done it.
