because Cotto and Shane stepped in the ring with Margo and Floyd didnt.
What does that mean?
Cotto, Williams, Mosley and shit, maybe even Cintron get more respect from Boxing fans than Mayweather.
Mayweather talked the talk, but never walked the walk.
Mosley talked it and BACKED IT THE FUKK UP. Cotto, Williams, Mosley all take risks which is why they have losses on their records. They step up to the plate against dangerous opponents.
Floyd is a great fighter and COULD have been the greatest of this era, but he didnt dare to fight true comp.
Congrats to Mosley. Great way to start ending a career. Shame on Margarito if these allegations are true. I wonder how they will explain this.
leave mayweather alone lol. we will never know now that hes retired, only wonder. i respect him as a person, and a fighter. If he wants to spend more time having fun, and hanging out with his kids, so be it. Many say hes the best boxer of his time, its just a shame he hasnt sealed the deal to many boxing fans.
yea.......
cotto beat judah.... after floyd
baldomir beat gatti...... after floyd
gatti was a replacement for shane mosley, who apperently had a toothache
casamyor turned down a fight with may at 135...... that is why he moved up.....
he called out kostya all the time....... no fight was made....
floyd was recongnized by all experts as THE champion.... y cant you accept that?
He was recognized as the best fighter in the division, not as the UNDISPUTED CHAMPION in each division. Why can't you GET that?
He may have called out all of these guys. That sucks they didn't fight him. Maybe they ducked him, and shame on them.
However, Margarito was willing. Mosley is on and off. Williams would love to. Clottey has admitted that he wants to. Cotto has been willing.
He should be happy people are so eager now, if he's so pissed at all the previous ducking.
that simply shows his disinterest in the sport. duh!
No, he's a paper chaser, always has been, disinterest in the sport isn't a big enough reason to reject a 20-30 million dollar payday against someone he already beat.
None of em are considered risks and dangerous until they actually beat the guy. In this case, Mosley losing to Forrest and Winky.
Would Floyd having fought Hatton been considered as taking a risk more had he lost to the guy???
Common now....I get that some of these Teenage bopper floyd fans are getting heisty but you're no different if you fall into their traps.
Responding to extremisim with extremism is not good.
No, De La Hoya, Collazo, and Margarito will be and were all considered big risks.
What type of streak or record the opponent carries into a fight matters, but what matters most is what your opponent does after the fight.
who was sergio martinez?he's somebody now he wasn't anything to brag about a couple years ago
the clottey fight was a close fight that i thought clottey won and clottey had just loss to baldomir prior to that, after his fight with clottey he losses to williams and then beats golden johnson, cintron is an o.k win but cintron has yet to prove that he is an elite fighter outside of margarito cintron has not fought a ww worth mentioning
Who was Azumah Nelson when Salvador Sanchez beat him? Who was Bernard Hopkins when Roy Jones beat him? The Clottey fight was a close, but clear decision for Margarito in most to all accounts of it and in the three most important eyes. His loss to Williams was close, if I put up the scores of pres row you'd see a split group between who won. Cintron suffered a devastating loss and came back and won a title and on a streak, so it's a good win, not just ok. This is the first time in 10-12 years he actually clearly lost a fight.
abc? he beat all legit recongnized champs... cotto on the other hand, has never beaten a champion........ neighter has clottey........
u simply cant argue with those facts
He beat Baldomir, at welterweight. Other than that, he's gone after the WBC titles, but I don't credit them, because like all the other soup titles, they suck.
At 140, he didn't win the TRUE championship.
At 135, he did beat the best fighter at the weight, but he wasn't a unified champion. Nonetheless, I'll give you the weight though, he was pretty clearly the best at that weight at his time.
At 130, we started out there and was growing as time went on, I don't blame him, but he had decent fights there.
This doesn't make him the TRUE champion in these divisions. Maybe two, welterweight and lightweight. However, then you have to defend against the best fighters in those divisions.
He has not.
At lightweight, he fought Castillo in the return and then nobody.
At welterweight, he fought De La Hoya at a different weight and Ricky Hatton who was moving up.
THAT is fact.
I am a HUGE fan of Floyd's style of fighting. I legitimately enjoy watching a master at work. I just prefer that he do it against the best in his weight. PRIME fighters.

sorry bruh.. winning in 5 different divisions fighitng against bigger guys a majority of the time walks the walk.. stop hating.. this isnt about mayweather.. this is about margarito... but if you want to go there i think floyd would beat margarito based on style and skill sets.. props to shane on the great victory.. last time i checked mayweather never cheated unlike some boxers
So knocking out Cotto, Cintron 2x, Lewis, Sergio Martinez, and beating Clottey doesn't merit a fight with Mayweather. You nuthuggers are hilarious, Mayweather gets a pass from all of you for avoiding all the top welterweights. He suddenly retired right before Cotto-Margarito because he didn't want to get bombarded with the questions of fighting the winner. It was such a huge deal that he'd rather retire than take the Oscar payday:smashfrea

Floyd accomplished alot in the sport of boxing. But he will never be regarded as one of the best of all-time and he will never be highly respected by boxing experts. Mainly because he never did jack s**t at 147. He beat Baldomir, Judah, Hatton???? And moved up to fight a part-time cash cow in Oscar. C'mon Floyd, those arent the best Floyd, the best are Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Williams. If you dont fight or beat these guys you're nothing at 147. Nothing.

:ugh: Word i feel like im arguing with a mirror image of my self from 6 months ago, yes zab was legit baldy was legit, floyd ruined them and they ended up doing horrible every fight after him, doesn't look good for the legacy and you know boxing fans have short memories...you know this man
bottomline floyd's stint at 147 was very short, no doubt if he fought two more fights at 147 it would be hard to fuel the haters fire but he didn't which leaves people speculating, i believe pbf could have taken anyone in the division but he retired too early, but it doesn't really bother me much because he rtired on top, but his opponents need to keep winning so it increases his legacy...
i'm out..
floyd will always get credit for zab because he's a name but floyd didn't win a title against zab because of the little riot and baldomir is a bum but he was the recognized ww champ
after watching margarito get shut out why are you still making margarito out to be such a big threat, what has margarito done to desrve to fight floyd mayweather?

was judah a legit champ at the time? yes..... what about baldomir? yes again..... has any of the top ww beat a legit for all his belts? no....... so how are they elite? they ass some ol vacant title holders..... and that includes marg and cotto......

Mayweather fans can say whatever the **** they want when it concerns a 6 loss C class fighter like Margarito. Floyd is a retired undefeated Hall of Famer. Margarito is NO Hall of Famer & now he is a known cheater.
u agreed with the thread starter, who was discrediting floyd..... duh!
i agreed he never got his hands dirty at 147, which is true he fought sharmba, and baldy, and hatton who went a division up.. re read my post again...
dude....... he beat only legit title holders...... not one vacent title..... can u say the same about cotto, margarito, berto, clottey?
I don't count ABC belts, sorry.
he beat whack ass cotto.... the vacent title king!
was floyd still boxing when margarito beat cotto? no. what happen to margarito in his fight after cotto? he couldn't win a round and got knoced out
okay.... the keyboard spartan has spoken...........
do me a favor........ bold the part in my quote where im "nuthuggin" and the go fu ck yourself
i'll bold it when you can find where i said anything to discredit floyd don't be so quick to jump your guns...
u obviouly care more about his legacy more than the man himself.....
Technically, I might. From about 15-35, thats your period. Meaning, as a fan, that's your generation. I don't want to think of one of the premier fighters of MY generation not fighting his best competition.
A lot of Mayweathers fans say, he'd beat Williams, Cotto, Margarito.. so he doesn't need to fight him.
That's not how you measure the man. You measure him by who he DID beat.
Even if the comp sucks, you prove it and that's what makes you.
So yeah, I guess you're right. I probably do.
Mayorga is no joke. He came in to that fight in one of the best shapes he has ever been in.
I guess you're fairly new to boxing because even Mayorga's biggest fans (which you seem to think you are?) refer to him jokingly. Nobody actually thinks he's any good.
stfu! damn yall say his name more than his fans
you don't know me fool so i would advise you to calm your ass down here and get floyds cock out your mouth, i am a floyd fan but im not on some nuthugger typeshit like you... but since you think im talking shit when did i discredit floyd you dumb ****?
