Good, I have no problem with Margo its just amazing that after one great performance people had the balls to compare him to Hearns. I come on here because I expect people to know and respect boxing, but 90% of this site is fanboys who see no way for their favortie to lose. Anyone who thought Mrg stood a slight chance against Tommy has never watched him fight.
very, very true.
Me. Hearn's would KO Margarito. It's no so much his chin being shown a limit the guy cannot box ( Margarito).
I don't know why I thought he had some boxing ability but he doesn't. Before hand I thought Margarito would be able to slip into the insight then rough house Hearn's but Marg has little to know head movement. He wouldn't be able to get to Hearn's as the fights I have seen of Hearn's he has an amazing jab and a brutal right.
I'm not a Margarito fan and I have seen Hearn's fight. I just overrated Margarito's boxing abilities. I don't know why I thought he was better than he actually is but that's how it is.
Glad to see someone actually admit they were wrong. I would rather get hit by Marg WITH a loaded glove than get hit by Hearns with a 16oz glove.
Anyone changed their minds?

I'm pretty sure you won't see anymore pro Margarito post on this thread after was Mosley did. There will be no more questions about whether Hearns could hurt Margarito at 147 which I said from the beginning before the Mosley fight.

Not at all actually

I too think that it wasn't just the very late rounds that Hearns' durability was in question.
Iran Barclay, Dennis Andries, and Juan Roldan really showed up Tommy's wobbly legs. It took Leonard a bit longer. Hagler took no time at all. lol
All of those fighters were MIDDLWEIGHTS. Hearns only lost once at 147 to Sugar Ray Leonard. Details, you know. Details.
Dennis Andries almost put Tommy away. Yes, Dennis who. lol
Dennis Andries was a light heavyweight and he never had Hearns in trouble. Hearns dominated him. No need to make up lies to make your point.
This fight would play out very similar to Hagler Hearns. I think Tommy comes out blasting, breaks his hands on Margs face, and gets KOed in the middle to early rounds.
Of course Tommy would be capable of boxing his way to a decision, but given his past behavior, I think he would try and go in there and bang him out early and fail.
hell yeah hearns by ko. I think people fail to realize what kind of beast hearns was at welterweight. smh go watch the tapes you youngins!!Exactly, I would love to see Marg try to walk through Hearn's punches.
Are people seriouslt comparing 147 Margos chin to 160lb Hagler(possibly the best chin in history)? Hearns would batter and bruise Margo for about 4rds then put him to sleep. This man is so overrated its unbelievable hes a tough guy with an iron chin hes not an all time great. Hearns at 147 was a BEAST, this is ridiculous Im gettin pissed.
He put Hearns down in that fight. Some people reckoned it was a slip, some said it was a punch. But in that round (can't remember what round it was) Tommy's legs were like jelly. Hearns did beat him easily though apart from that round.
Andries was an entertaining fighter. He always showed up to fight. He just looked so amateurish in the way he fought.
3:30? Seemed like Andries kind of pushed him down.
Andries wasn't a great fighter but not a bad one either. Atleast he was involved in some highly entertaining fights.
But I never saw him come even close to stopping Hearns in that fight. He took a beating.

Course i knew who Andries was. One of the worst world champions we've ever had. Although he wasn't actually born in the UK.

As much as I like Margarito, he is getting a little overrated by some for his win over 5'7 Miguel Cotto.
You don't know who Dennis Andries was? 3-time light heavyweight champion.
Course i knew who Andries was. One of the worst world champions we've ever had. To say he was an 'unorthodox' boxer would be an under-statement. lol
He wasn't actually born in the UK though.
A lot would depend on where the fight played out on the inside Hearns is terrible and Margarito should be able to get some work done there. On the outside though Hearns is far superior, and I really do not know if Tony has what it takes to really get inside Hearn's range.
Hearns did come up short in a lot of his big fights and there are certain aspect to Margarito's game that could trouble Hearns (chin, relentless, some power) but I have to favor Hearns atleast 75/25.
