I never really understood why Toney is hailed as a great
I'm not saying that he's not, but can anyone just explain why?
How long you've been following boxing?
Both guys r alltime greats and future hall of famers without question...Of the two I would say that Toney is the more accomplished...However both fighters have displayed consistency and longevity two key ingredients whenever you talk about greatness in athletics...
all time great is a stupid term. some dumbass writer on this site called calzaghe an all time great. this dude probably has zsolt erdei and sven ottke neck and neck for best ever. hurry up and retire zsolt don't wanna take any chances and lose. oh and btw don't forget to fight dead jones jr before you go to seal your legacy. :You_Rock_
Toney is more of an all-time great in my opinion although it's a term that I don't think should be used too lightly.
Mosley and Toney were among the best during their time but ATG means you are among the best ever (in the class of Ray Robinson, Ali, Armstrong, Leonard, Pep, Greb, Duran and so on). I believe Toney could've been in that class but he threw it all away.
I agree with this, I don't consider Toney an ATG either but more of an argument can be made for him than Mosley.
