By Craig Phillips: It looks increasingly like Enzo Maccarinelli will meet Steve “USS” Cunningham at the MEN Arena on March 14 for the vacant WBO Cruiserweight title.
Maccarinelli was looking to a bout with Jonathan Banks but Banks withdrew from a December date for the contest and he now looks set to face new IBF champion Tomasz Adamek in Adamek’s first defence of the title he won from Cunningham in one of the fights of 2008.
Although nothing is signed for a fight between the two yet, sources close to the Cunningham camp have said that a deal would be easy to do as both Frank Warren and Don King are already working together on the event which sees Amir Khan face Marco Antonio Barrera in the main event.
Maccarinelli lost the WBO title last March when he was blown away by David Haye in a unification bout but he is now looking to reclaim his belt.
The appointment of Cunningham as opponent would probably be welcomed by Sports Network as they will most probably look to put the card on pay per view in the UK and a big fight between two of the top cruiserweights in the world would add selling power to the card.

I'm defo backing Enzo on this on. 10k on Enzo if anyone fancies it? (subject to it going a head)
Not a bad fight. Guerillmo Jones versus Adamek is the one I wanna see.
I like both guys so I can't decide who I'd root for.
Enzo didn't do himself any favors getting blasted out on American tv against Haye though.
Jones is a blown up Welterweight... It is amazing that he is a belt holder at his age and at this weight.
I like Cunningham in this fight. He is great techically and I can see him outboxing Macca to a UD. But IMO Enzo has more power P4P than Adamek and if Adamek can put Cunningham down three times you have got to think that if Enzo can land flush he is going to put Cunningham into quite a bit of trouble. Very interesting match up; hope it gets made.

The thing with the Enzo/Haye fight was whoever landed the first clean shot won the fight, they both said that.

LOL. He did look like a drunken brit stepping out from a bar.
Credit to Warren, if this is made, though.
