Contenders,
My family was living out in Seattle and I went out in '93 to visit. My friend, who is in the Army, went with me. When we were there, we drove out to Yakima to visit one of his Army buds. It was a cool town, beautiful area. Walla Walla has a maximum security prison, doesn't it?
The scenery is definitely pretty nice...with all the orchards, vineyards and what not. Yakima and the whole Valley are a little rough, but I like it. It makes for a decent boxing scene too...a good rivalry between Yakima fighters and guys from the Lower Valley! :boxing:
You're right, Walla Walla is home to the Washington St. Pen.

I'vebeen training since last april.. 3 different gyms.. i spent my first 3 months at a not so good gym, then the next 5 months at a pretty good gym in queens, but the last month ive been working out of a PAL and these guys really get down to business about the findamentals of boxing.. since i got laid off of work last month ive been goin 5 days a week for about 3 or 4 hours a night.. and the oldtimer coach has really took an interest in me.. no fights yet but i got my amatuer book (license) and will fight in the next tournament
Sweet...I was in Yakima, WA in 1993 for a short while. Isn't that where Drew Bledsoe is from?
He's actually from a town called Walla Walla, about two hours from here.
That's cool though! What brought you to Yakima back then?
I first stepped into a boxing gym at about age 8-9, and competed amateur from age 12 to right before turning 20. I stopped for a few years to focus on work and family, but started hitting the gym again about four years ago.
I'm 28 now (29 this year) and go workout and spare twice a week. :boxing:

Scully is a second-rate fighter from the 90's who was the whipping post for some of the legitimate guys coming up. He shows up on a lot of boxing forums, posing as some sort of guru. LOL! I'm not surprised that you've never heard of him. Neither have people in his own family.
Did you post here before, say, at around the 2005-2006, under a different account with similar name?
Cause your nick sounds familiar.
No i was the loser who only entered the dawn of the internet last year! Joined here not long ago for the first time
What club do you box for mate? I used to box for Fairbairn ABC, its in East London.
Ive been trainning at Clovestone ABC but my fight was just a charity thing
I had 7 fights, won 6 on the bounce and lost my last one but i never fought again after that. Took a couple of months off then Injured my back and was out for a while more before i ended up playing Rugby.
Still think about goin back sometimes coz now i just sit on my lazy ass drinking beer and smokin weed! :trink26: :439:

I've been boxing 2,5 years and i have 12 amateur matches. A shoulder injury has slowed me down and i've picked up coaching until i get my shoulder 100% again.
