Max Kellerman is the only commentator on HBO (aside from an actual boxing professional) that I actually like and care to hear what he says. Larry Merchant says dumb shit every time. "Manny Pacquiao is.... a cross between........ Muhammid Ali.... And..... Princess Di". Thats a direct quote of Larry Merchant. I couldn't believe it, he says the stupidest shit all the time and he takes like 10 minutes to say it! Jim Lampley is the worst of all. At least Larry Merchant knows some stuff about boxing. I can't stand Merchant at all, he should just go back to announcing TENNIS! Silly bastard. Max Kellerman, on the other hand, has been a student of boxing since he was a kid, I think he even had a show on some local tv network where he would just talk about boxing years ago. I like the guy. Joe Rogan aint too bad but he's an idiot whenever he opens his mouth about boxing. Stick to UFC, Joe, or HBO is gonna put a hit out on that ass.

you know, Max came on the scene as a breath of fresh air. a guy who knew his shit, and was riding Sweet Peas nuts a little too hard. the guy is an encyclopedia of boxing knowledge though. why hate on that? everyone has fighters they like and the announcers that dont are just getting a paycheck. yeah I liked Sean from TNF's too, but Max brought an opinion to the table, which if I have to remind you, is why you are on these forums in the first place. anyone who is a fan will have an opinion. get over it. When he worked for ESPN he had a radio show with Brian Kenny called "Kenny to the Max" and Kellerman was always wandering off script. He would stop talking about sports and start going into politics and other subjects. One day he went off on a tangent about method acting for like 10 minutes. Also, if I am not mistaken, one of the 24 hour news channels even had him for a guest on multiple occassions. Kellerman is a definite "Know it all" type.
