Insisting that a 50-50 deal is fair enough for him and Pacquiao, the British super-lightweight star told the Daily Telegraph that while the pound-for-pound tends to believe that he is the draw, he is the one generating the money.
"Look around you. You can see how many have turned out tonight. I sold out the City of Manchester Stadium in six hours, 55,000 people. Thousands follow me to Vegas. How many people does he bring from the Philippines? Not many," Hatton said as quoted by Kevin Garside, the Chief of Sports Writers for the British broadsheet, in a story that was published last Friday.
"No disrespect to Manny, he is a great fighter, and deserves his pound-for-pound accolade. But I bring as much to the table if not more than him. We agreed a 50-50 split. It’s that or nothing," added Hatton, who also dabbles in comedy gigs.
I don't see mayweather accepting %40, i honestly don't see mayweather accepting less than %55.
Mayweather is a former P4P king. Hatton is burger king, there's a difference. :D
who else do you think could bring him the same or bigger purse for pac, besides mayweather.???
I don't see mayweather accepting %40, i honestly don't see mayweather accepting less than %55.
Hatton can bring all the money in the world to the table but he will never be a hall of famer!
last i checked, no one was calling out Hatton, well no one with substance anyway.
i just hope this fight happens cos i'd love to see hatton get pounded to a pulp.
Hatton made more money against Malinaggi the Pac did against DLH, his biggest payday. Hatton also made between 30-40 million fighting Mayweather. Pac has never made anywhere close to that and now likely never will. Pac knows Hatton will wreck him at 140 where Ricky is undefeated, Ring and Linear Champion!
FTR, there's no such thing as a P4P Champion, which could very easily be Joe Calzaghe as Pac. P4P is not real, only opinions and usually biased ones!
sure, hatton has the money, but the last thing casual fans remember about him is getting KTFO by floyd. the last thing casual fans remember about pac is destroying dlh.
only way hatton can erase getting embarrased then KTFO is beating floyd (floyd's retired) or beating pac (which means giving pac the bigger purse).
Who says he hasn't made more money?
Ricky's career really took off after he beat Kostya Tsyzu. That was only 3.5 years ago. Manny was established well before that.
Also remember, Pacquio is the p4p champion and Hatton is the challenger to that. Pacqiao has the larger fanbase too. Just because Pacquiao's countrymen are dirt poor and can't afford to travel doesn't mean they don't pay for the PPV fights. Think about it, the entire country stops for the man; politicians follow him around, they worship the man.
Ricky is a mega draw but don't forget that Pacquiao has been established for longer and has the bigger worldwide support.

Pacman: You want to fight me, Hatton? I think I can you know....ahhh beat you.
Hatton: No, I want to fight dela Hoya, he brings more money.
Dela Hoya: OK Ricky, I just have to get a few bucks winning over Pacman first then let's talk.
Pacman beats up dela Hoya.
Hatton: Hey Oscar, still want to fight? We can sell out the biggest stadium in Manchester.
Dela Hoya: I just lost dimwit. Go fight somebody else.
Hatton: Hey Floyd, care for a rematch? I heard you're having financial troubles.
Floyd: Why would I do that? I already beat your ass whiteboy. Get another blackman , try friggin' with Witter.
Hatton: Nah, Witter doesn't bring money to the table (not to mention the fact that he terrifies me)...damn...who can I fight at 140 that I can beat? Collazo and Lazcano almost got my ass...
Dela Hoya: Your problems are over Ricky, Richard got you Pacquiao, thinks he agreed to a 50/50 split...well, at least that's what Bob told us. The guys smaller than you, he'd be easy.
Hatton: Yeah, but I was there when he beat you up..no way am I fighting that guy.
Dela Hoya: But we already got him, no turning back now, you might look like a pussy.
Pacquiao: OK, I will fight Hatton...hmmm but you know hmmm...I like a ...you know 60/40.
Hatton: No way, its 50/50 or the fight is off! (Crap, I hope he doesn't agree on 50/50 or my face's gonna look like popped haggis.)
Pacquiao: Take it or hmmm you know.... ahh leave it. I'm the P4P king, and you are ah...hmmm, you know.... pale.
Hatton: Whew....that was bloody close.
:lol1:
On the contrary infact.
He beat Dela Hoya - aged or not - and took a big risk in doing so. Dela Hoya was at least 20lb naturally bigger, had a big punch and only 18 months ago was in a close fight with Floyd Mayweather (best fighter on the planet). It wasn't an easy fight on paper for Manny.
Compare that with Ricky Hatton. He got out worked and embarrased by Floyd Mayweather. He looked rubbish against Lazcano and quite faded plus he didn't prove anything against gun-shy big-talking Paulie Malignaggi.
Compare that to Pacquio's achievments and one must wonder how you come to that conclusion.
Ricky is at the end of his career. Manny is still in his prime. If they met, I predict Manny would have more speed, workrate and movement for Hatton. He would be made to look silly and desperate at times in that fight and we'll see the 'old' Hatton emerging; the swinging slugger.
Naturally bigger means shit when DLH entered the ring weighing less than Manny.
Anyways, Pac is showing he doesn't really want the fight.
If he really did, he'd agree to 50/50.
Ricky's career really took off after he beat Kostya Tsyzu. That was only 3.5 years ago. Manny was established well before that.
Pac barely got a name in late 2003 and didn't really become a name until he fought Morales in 2005. Yes Marquez happened in 2004, but nobody but hardcore fans even knew about that fight.
Saying Manny was established well before Hatton is a lie. Pac was barely established.
Stupidest comment I've ever heard from Hatton
"How many people follow him over from the Phillipenes..."
Duhhhh Ricky,
The national wage per annum per person is around $500 in the Phillipenes. It is a mud hut, poverty stricken Third World society. Tickets would cost 3-4 years earnings (or probably life savings) to come over to watch Manny Pacquio. There is no such thing as credit cards in the Phillipenes (well not availible to the poor anyway).
Another brilliant insight by Hatton.
PS: Pacquio is the bigger draw.
Then why does Hatton make and generate more revenue then Pac? If Pac was a "bigger" draw he should have made more money then Hatton, which he hasn't!
Pacquiao doesn't want the fight.
Simple as that. He knows he beat an aged DLH, the worst of the lightweight champions and had a very, very close fight with Marquez.
He knows the guys at 140 and above who are in their primes can take his punch.
Sad that hes turning into a Mayweather.
Boo Pacquiao.
You keep insisting that the 50/50 was a done deal. It wasn't. The fight was still under negotiation when Team Pacquiao notice the split percentage issu. GBP and Arum, unfortunately, tried to pull a fast one over Manny, that is why they insisted on a deadline.
Your man's dad even threatened Manny of a lawsuit. Now they have budged a little. So tell me who is greedy. Team Hatton knew 50/50 was a jackpot for them, if it went unnoticed. But it didnt. So reality-check. It was them who
No need to call Pacquiao coward, just dont watch his fights.. that is what youtube is for. Goodluck on your fav fighters careers.
Arum had Hatton agree to splitting the UK PPV 50/50 which would've made Pac more then getting a 60/40 and NO UK PPV cut, like FMJ took. Pac had a sweet deal but his team was too ignorant to realize it.
50/50 (like they already agreed) or Ricky should tell Pac to piss off. Pac wants to be a greedy twat let him try to get 60/40 from those top names that are "lining up" to fight him. Floyd, Margarito and Cotto etc, wont fight him if they're getting short changed either. Pac will either come to his senses or lose his only shot at a mega-payday!
Pac is a greedy coward and I wont pay a dime for any of his fights now, even if he mans up and fights Hatton, like he agreed to in the 1st place.

I totally agree. Bottom line? I dont think Pacman is a very intelligent person. No disrespect to him, but i just think he does what those around him tell him to do. I read that he never really had an education while growing up. Common sense would tell u that 50% of a fight with Hatton, would be more than recieving 75% of a fight a fight with anyone else other than Floyd. I just dont see what's the problem signing for 50/50 plus UK ppv revenue. Sounds like a sweet fuking deal to me!
And what has Manny's education got to do with all of these? ON the contrary, if Manny is that uneducated according to you, he would have just say Yes to Arum for the 50/50 deal. But he didn't. He could see between the lines that he was being taken for a ride.
Answer this? Is Ricky Hatton deserving to get 50/50 with Pacquiao when you compare their resumes against each other? If Hatton is the P4PKing and has just beaten Dela Hoya and Manny is the IBO Belt Holder but has lost via KO to Floyd, would you allow Manny to get 50/50 deal? I'll let you think hard about it..

hatton is right about bring just as much if not more money to the table. look at it this way, if hattons fans wanted to play big bank vs little bank, whos got more money in their wallets, it would no doubt be hattons fans. their currency is stronger for starters, but hattons fans have no problem spending their money too and traveling to see him fight, where as for pacquiao, only the some of rich from his country travel see him or gov officials.being part filipino and have been rasied around and in a filipnio community, i can tell you that the spending of hattons fans almost triples compared to what pac's fans would spend. i could go on for days talking about this that and the other when compared to who has more cash and who is spending it like the host cities of the fights want them to spend it, but the bottom line is this, manny could have half of a very huge pie, or he can have 3/4's of a smaller pie that won't even come close to what the half of the big pie would yield.................

And that probably is the reason you won the Pacman sweepstakes, take the friggin 60/40 offer and take your shot at glory, you might never get the chance again :D
Pac against anyone good is gonna be a payday. No one makes a ton against the Malignaggi's and Diaz'es of the world.
I can't think of many people in history who did. Maybe Tyson and DLH.
But a good star against Pac, any of them really, makes some bank now.
I agree. Same goes with The Hitman.
I dunno... US$ 10-M or more sounds reasonable. Still, nobody can top Oscar's PPV run. Not Ricky, not Floyd and not Manny, but the next fight between Manny and any these two should be huge.
I JUST WANT HIM TO FIGHT!! I LOVE TO SEE HIM IN ACTION!!!!:boxing:
and what the ****... he fight his way all the way to the top... so if he wants to lay back.... theres nothing we can do about it...
still.. i think is a bad choice for him .. not accepting the hatton fight.... :boxing:
no way man... 8 figures???
thats just 2 high ... he got that on dlh fight... but he will not get a 8 figures figting anybody else.. unless is mayweather.
imho of course..... who knows.... maybe arum.. is willing to do it. .but i doubt it

8 figures is only $10,000,000 Calzaghe and RJJ split earned them both that,
How many PPV did Calzaghe Vs RJJ draw?
dont know man....
but i really doubt manny will get 8 figures unless he fight may or hatton..
