when collazo won the belt against then champion jose antonio rivera, he went through this same style of fight.
he took that fight in 3 weeks notice and in massachussets the champions hometown. hostile crowd, and both guys were going at it. same as last night. no let down.. collazo throwing the cleaner punches.
berto threw some big shots but collazo's defence was good. he never really got hit flush.
collazo won that fight by one round also. he was trading shots with both guys, collazo knew what he was getting himself into and he planned for it.
this was suppose to be a easy fight for berto, what happened?
is it that berto is not as good or that collazo is better than people are saying?
Collazo-Rivera was a heck of a fight, one of the best fights that year.
Anyways, I think it's people building up Berto more than he should be built up at this point, he's already been called one of the saviors of boxing before he had a real solid test as a professional fighter and he's been in fights where he's made to look good, masking his flaws really well, Collazo just made Berto look like what he is, a green, raw talent who was managed very well into holding a title. Berto has potential but he needs to correct his mistakes if he's to beat the best and be one of the superstars of boxing, I'd hate to have another Meldrick Taylor.
I never saw the berto fight but Collazo vs Rivera is a crackin fight! :boxing:
I dont think anyone was saying this was gonna be an easy fight for Young Berto tho, a solid test
