Although this may be true, why is he fighting Barrera and not someone in their prime? Protection? They're trying to milk MAB, using his name and history, and assuming that Barrera is now old and withered, to get more money. Watch it backfire, further exposing his baby chin. The only way I'll give Khan any credit now is if he gets a rematch with Prescott and schools him, which is highly doubtful. It looked like Prescott designed to do one thing. Annihilate Khan's chin. I hope they don't take that fight for a while.

This is a Huge step up for Khan. In my opinion, barrera should be favourite. Sure he has seen better days, but Amir Khan is far from the finished product anyway. Barrera will probably use his experience I wish they would just put this on HBO. This fight definitely generates a ton of interest around boxing circles. Such an interesting matchup of prospect on way up and legend on the way out.

It depends on how much Barrera has left, the Barrera that lost to Pacquiao in their second fight would have probably beaten Khan, it's hard to say how much he has left after fighting Sammy Ventura though so I'll be trying to watch his fight later this month to see how he does. which is what i strongly predict will be the case Although his fighting age is slightly older, MAB is only 34 years old. He fought in 2007 against #1 Pacquiao and #2 JMM and both fights were competitive decisions. It is quite a leap of faith for you to decide he has gotten old since then as it's only been just over a year. We have no reason to believe he's gotten old in the past year.

It should be an interestung fight . It's a good opportunity for Khan . We should find out how he's improving since the Prescott fight against a vetran and legend like Barrera . Hopefully he does perform well and we might see him getting world ranked opponents next or even Thaxton or something maybe if we're lucky Katsidis David Diaz or something :boxing: Thaxton, after Barrera? Thaxton hasn't beat anybody that even matches the class of a 35 yr old Barrera. If Khan beats Barrera, he is moving onto bigger and better things. And we will know if he has improved, because the Khan that stepped into the ring with Prescott, would get destroyed by Barrera. But I do agree that someone like Katsidis, or Diaz is the next logical step. If he can overcome one of them, then a world title fight should follow.
