!!Shaun, you sound kind of ignorant, he's been KD keeping his hands down, and he leaves himself open. You cannot rely on reflexes, you need yo keep your guard up, like B-Hop, Teddy Atlas, and anyone who knows boxing, those are fundamentals these young guys need to learn.
Gamboa does look unfomfortable keeping his hands up,he looks so much more relaxed with his hands against his chest,or right hand to the chin, left hand around the waist,he moves better,i dont know,it seems these KDs have been blessings in disguise for him,it completely wakes him up from being arogant
Thats what I am saying. Gamboa has the best legs in boxing, the best lateral movement, the best reflexes, some of the fastest hands.
Gamboa shines when he keeps his hands low and just flows around the ring like water.
I don't know why the people on his team don't see this.
They keep trying to force him into a mold that he doesn't fit into. If they keep trying to do it, they are going to spoil him as a fighter.
Yes. All a high guard is doing for him is blocking his vision. His ability to see punches and cat like reflexes are his greatest asset, they need to work with it.
did his catlike reflexes save him from getting knocked down?
I think that no matter if he wins, he is going to keep catching flack every time he goes down. I've never seen him wobbled or badly hurt, but most of those KDs are legit, he keeps getting caught. I think its because he is trying to learn something different, and he is still not accustom to the style his trainer is trying to develop him into. He needs a new trainer, he does need a Floyd Mayweather in his corner. I really don't know far he will go in his career. When I fist saw him on youtube I thought this guy was unstoppable, but I definitely don't see that anymore. That stoppage was suspect also.
so gamboa will improve his defense by keeping his hands low?

Every time Gamboa gets dropped its because he is trying to keep his hands up.
They need to stop trying to change the kid and develop him within his style. They are going **** him over like they did to Andrew Maynard.

Gamboa fights to much with his chin in the air, especially when he goes in to full tilt offensive mode. He took a straight right to the chin at the end of the last round and took it well.
no watch after he throws a punch..if he misses hes always off balance
Yeh i recognise that,i think thats got to do with how fast he throws it,and how fast he tries to move out the way
he fights off balance..plain and simple
I think its not paying much attention, hes similar to Calzaghe and Naseem in a way that, early in fights,he can get caught sleeping not taking his opponent serious and get dropped, but it actually wakes him up,and lights his fire
Its just lazy flaws in his defense, if you let a professional boxer get a free shot like that you're gonna get knocked on your ass. He needs a better trainer for sure or he's gonna face a huge puncher and he's not gonna get up off the floor one day.
Freddie Roach would be great for him
