Pretty good article, but the "mismatches" werern't that many. I thought there were some very good quality match ups this year that were made, especially in the beginning half. It fell apart mostly in the second half.
The reason why the ratings have declined is because they don't advertise to the casual fan either. They never have commercials for them except rarely on HBO.
HBO also takes each fight as a single fight it seems like and that's it. They don't focus on the other stuff in the division except some small stuff.

Definitely worth the long read.
I agree with all of his points, except for his point on HBO's 24/7 series.
I think that the series is great, and although I agree with him that as a hardcore boxing fan, we would have liked to see more boxing related material on there, but most casual fans would quickly lose interest if this were the case.
But again, great article.
