According to danish news-media Kessler has hired a lawyer to deal with his troubles with team Palle. Kessler is not happy with the way things are going. "Mogens Palle is talking about all kinds of fights and he is naming a lot of names, but nothing happens" says Kessler.
Kessler is a very easy-going dude, so this is serious. He is very angry.
I hope this can wake team Palle up, and get a big fight for Kessler. He is wasting what should be his best years!!!
If this is true, he may aswell try to get the fights out of the way this year.
It'll take at least 2 years to get those 3 fights out of the way. Two bums and a mandatory against Gusmyl Perdomo (who the **** is he?)
Kessler will be almost 32 in 2 years from now, and his physique does not allow him to fight much longer than that I'm afraid. He has a bad back and fragile hands. The past 2 years and the next 2 years should have been the best in his career. :damnit:
That's the real problem right there!
Promotor Mogens Palle has options for Kessler's next 3 titlefights. Kessler himself says he doesn't know anything about that. He just signs the dotted line and concentrates on the boxing. He states that his manager must tell him about important things in his contracts.
What kind of manager will not tell his client that if the client signs the promotor has options on his next 3 titlefights?
I tell you what kind! The family kind! Kessler's manager is Bettina Palle. Daughter of promotor Mogens Palle. Of course she will never advice Kessler not to sign when it will hurt her dad.
So there's a loyalty conflict on behalf of Bettina. Should she be loyal towards her fighter or her father? I guess that's why Kessler has hired an attourney.
Kessler himself left for Thailand today for a prolonged vacation, so I highly doubt that we will see him in the ring any time soon.
This is a ****ed up situation! But I guess he kind of brought it on himself, in hindsight it wasn't the smartest move using his promoters daughter as a manager. Now what?
Palle owns Kessler for his next 3 fights, as far as I could understand. So no, I don't think so. Which is why I believe he now has a lawyer on the case.

It took Mads Larsen over 3 years to get out of his contract with Palle. Hopefully Kessler is a bit faster than that, if that is the road he is taking.
This could be the 2nd time Palle blows it with a potential p4p top 10 fighter, good work...
Jim and Larry always talk about Abraham when Pavlik is fighting, that fight needs to be made now......
Yeah that's the biggest fight that could be made at 160, Kelly needs to get some more wins under his notch and looks good doing it so the Abraham fight could be bigger. He needs to blow away a few mandatories so he can get back his Ora.
For sure, rejecting the Miranda fight has put the brakes on his career - big time.
Just imagine if Kessler had blown Miranda away the same way Abraham did? Kessler would be getting all of the big money fights and would be recognized even more in the U.S. That was one fight he really didn't need to turn down.
Do You know anything about Kesslers' contract? Is it possible for him to terminate it?

Kessler was give chances to gain exposure, first was his fight with Andrade that was televised on HBO than his fight with Calzaghe, which was on the same network. He was also was offered a Miranda bout and now the Dawson match up.
I think it was his promoter more then Mikkel that took the offers lightly similar to Frank Warren and Calzaghe. Either way America tried to accept Kessler but someone else was holding him back.

Yeah I already knew this was coming. Interesting note, Kesslers close friend Simon Lundt Hansen contacted the Danish Boxing Union to get a promotors license.

Things have been going the wrong way for Kessler since team palle turned down a fight against Miranda. Team Palle wanted Kessler to get the WBA-title back and fight german almost nobody "Sartison". This turned out to be a mis-match, and Sartison spend the night at the hospital. Then he had a mandatory against Haussler, which was an even bigger mis-match.
Instead Kessler could've fought Miranda on HBO, and be on his way to bigger and better things: Hopkins, Pavlik, Taylor....

Who would you suggest he sign with?
Kessler could headline against Jermain Taylor,HBO prefers that over a Froch fight.
I think he's ****ed.
He is in a position, where Joe Calzaghe spent most of his career. Except; Denmark is an even smaller pond.
I also didn't get why they turned down Dawson.... Kessler would of still had his belt to come back to if he lost and a win would of catipulted Kessler in the P4P rankings with belts at 175 and 168. He has everything to gain in that fight with nothing to lose.
Exactly. Ive heard two excuses. One was that Dawson is a ''cruiser weight'' and the other was that Dawson wouldn't come down 5 pounds to fight him( which would be silly because with this big fight, it should be for a title).
Golden Boy FTW......
I don't think I've been that happy with any of their cards yet.
Kessler can't headline in America; what would they do with him?
I feel for Kessler.
Kessler has the potential to be the best super middleweight out, but with the ''Palle'', those fights are not going to happen because they are too insecure for some reason, the man has talent so why not put up against the best opposition rather than have him turn out like Sven Oktte? Whats wrong with moving up 5 pounds( lower than his walk around weight) and fight Dawson for the light heavyweight title?
Kessler has every right to be pissed.
Kessler is a good fighter that needs the big fights to prove himself.
I feel he can beat anyone at 168 except Joe.
