This is so true. Even though I don't plan on ever competing again, I can't imagine myself not getting a little work done in the gym at least a couple times a week.
I stay in shape and love sparring and training, but I just don't have the time to hit the gym 4-5 times a week to be competition-ready. With work, family and everything else...twice a week is about all I can do. Works for me though!
Yep, boxing is a big commitment... Cutting weight does'nt help much neither. Its the worst part... :(
yeh i boxed up to the age of 17, won a few titles then packed it in. Still keep up with training. The training does'nt leave me... :)

It's the same thing here in the States. I think there's a Masters Division for those over that age...a lot more restrictions though.
I competed up until around age 20 or so. I'm 28 (29 this year) now. I still hit the gym twice a week though and get in several rounds of sparring. I like helping out the younger kids too.

Over in England you have to be less than 34 years old to box at an amateur level.

Hit up a local gym and start learning the fundamentals. After you get a taste of what the training is like and what not, you'll see whether the sport is for you or not. Here in the States, you'll have to register with USA Boxing before competing, but all of that can be done through the gym.
You're never too old to take up boxing...to compete amateur yes, but not to practice the sport. :boxing:
most the people in non stop boxing have never boxed so to get real answers go to training and nutrition... but to start amateur boxing your obviously gonna have to get in decent shape, maintain a weight, eat healthy, and train for a good amount of time and then you will worry about actually fighting.
go to a gym talk to a trainer he will give you all the information you need.... good luck
Got down to your local gym. Thats where it all starts. Over in England, before we start boxing we get medicalled. After all the formalities are done, we can finally start boxing in matches.
Of course you have to train for at least a 6 months- 1 year before you start participating in matches.
