After their fight still is one of the classiest things you'll ever hear.
lol@how he's ACTUALLY a Pavlik Fan. and he'd come get him and drag him to the gym if he decided to give up or if Hopkins beating him like that demoralized him. He's one of the greatest P4P fighters of all time Nard is and class act.

Yeah but come on wtf.
Everyone who follows boxing should have at one time seen an expose on him and how he travels prison to prison to give speeches all the time.
That's one of his extra curriculars.
I haven't seen this or know about this. Would be interested in seeing a video of Bernard doing this if anyone has a link, anywhere.
He didn't beat no Bernard Hopkins he just got a dubious decision. That loss will haunt Calzaghe fans forever, because he got handled and made to look like a part time amateur Boxer by an old man.
Record books say he beat the great Bernard Hopkins, record books say Haye lost to the shit Thompson by KO.
A well, at least he beats 40 year olds, Haye has a habit of being KOed by them.

You would feel that way if someone.......you know didn't beat you, but they still got a "w" over you for slapping thin air whilst coming foward.

It's funny how Hopkins talks kindly of people when he WINS.
He is a sore loser, he refuses to give any credit to anyone who beat him, I can't respect him for that. He said "This aint victory talk, I'm a real dude from the streets." What a load of bullshit, what is it then?

Bernard Hopkins seems like a real, straight up dude. If you don't mess with him he won't harm a fly....even in his street days, he wouldn't mess with the innocenct, he's said this numerous times. He's not exactly a class act in the classic sense of the term, but the guy clearly has moral values and sticks to them, and thats a rare thing these days.
He would have robbed your grand mothers purse back in the day.

Class act?
The guy who disrespected my entire country? The guy who said "I will never let a white boy beat me"? The guy who faked low blows to buy time and try to manipulate the ref into a point deduction? The guy who NEVER accepts defeat and makes millions of excuses each time? The guy who ONLY praises his opponents after he beats them? The guy who uses every dirty trick in the book, including headbutts and low blows, to try and win his fight?
I like Hopkins' boxing skills, but Hopkins the person is NOT a class act. It is ridiculous to think so.

He seems like a nice enough guy.
I usually refrain from judgement until I know the person (whether a celebrity or not) on a personal level. Which is why I don't judge celebrities.

Absolutely. He robs the sport if he doesn't.
Long live the Executioner!!
You didn't mention that in your 1st post.

He's a class act because of his contributions to the prison system and rehabilitation of cons to begin with. Also all he does for charity.
and yes it is a big deal. Sorry if you don't think it was.
That was class.

How is Hopkins giving someone they beat convincingly make him a class act? 95% of the time, winners are almost always magnaminous in victory. Time after time loser is called a warrior. Someone with a heart of a lion. Blah blah blah.
No big deal and nothing to cry class about.

Jermain Taylor beat him without doubt in their first fight and I gave Calzaghe the win by 2 rounds, yes they were close fights but he lost and showed no class. Still he's a great fighter.
WHAT?!?! If you said the second fight then I would probably agree, but the first should have atleast been a draw if not a win for Hopkins, Taylor didn't do enough as a challenger to take Hopkins title away. In the 2nd fight, Taylor made a better case for himself.
As for Hopkins being a trainer, I think he would be an excellent one, because of the fact that he isn't a fighter who relies on reflexes or power, he relies on boxing smarts in the ring, which can be taught, while reflexes and power cannot be taught. B-Hop is also a very good speaker, he is an excellent strategist, he is usually right with his predictions of fights (except his biased ones about De La Hoya), which tells you he is very good at analyzing fighters. I think he would be a hell of a trainer if he decides thats what he wants to do.
