I can't breathe at all through my nose. When I do intense cardio work or hit the heavybag, I make very loud noises breathing violently through the mouth after the 2nd and 3rd rounds with 2 minute all out rounds. People actually come up to me and ask if I am okay because I am always grunting and breathing very loud. I shoot up Afrin into my nose 3 times a week before the heavybag sessions and it only helps 20% at best. I also take 400 mg caffeine preworkout which seems to help a bit. I feel exhausted of my options and don't know how to correct this deviated problem without surgery?
Now I don't think that surgery is going to be good for me, since the septum will be trimmed and reshaped, it only takes a monkey to know that trimming the nose bone is probably not a very good idea if professional trained boxers are going to continiously pound the shit out of it for the years to come.
Also who are pro boxers that have deviated septum and are fine with it?
And most importantly...what is the damn solution?
I have it, but I don't box professional. It DOES affect my work outs and when I've sparred, I've had to breathe through my mouth when activity increased. From what I've been told, if you want to follow a career in boxing, you need to get that fixed.
