If Wlad defeats Chagaev/Valuev he not only gets the WBA belt, but he also obtains the Ring Belt.
Is that enough for him to be the undisputed champ, or does he still need the WBC strap.
Perhaps not "undisputed" but he can be "universally recognized".
He pretty much is already universally recognized as the heavyweight champion of the world. Undisputed will have to wait though.
My god. You changed your sig and av.
:lol1: Yeah, I was getting bored of the old ones.
No? Howcome, I thought it was either 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 3, explain?
It wouldn't be 1 vs 3 because Vitali is clearly the number 2 fighter and he shouldn't be by passed. Though, I could be wrong and they would recognize it because they would know Vitali and Wlad would never unify, but I don't they would do that.
I think a 1 vs 3 case would be like if the #2 and #3 contender are interchangeable.

He wouldn't get the ring belt. I just noticed this part. This isn't a case of 1 vs 3.
Resume yeah. Vitali is older now and he could be old. Peter put up no fight, so it's hard to judge. Vitali could be a lot worse then we think he is
Vitali's speed might have deteriorated somewhat since 03/04, but he still seems to be the same fighter. It was always Vitali's akward style that made him such a force.
Based on resume or a hypothetical matchup?
Looking at what they have achieved then yeah, it is Wlad, but in a hypothetical matchup anyone who favours Wladimir is a bit nuts IMO.

Agreed, except I think Wlad is somewhat better. Even then Wlad has no right to call him Heavyweight champion as long as Vitali is fighting.
Wladimir was clearly the best heavyweight before Vitali came back. And Vitali is about to retire yet again at 37. Consider Vitali retiring, afterwards what will guarantee Wladimir the Undisputed title.

As long as VItali is active Wlad will never be considered the best Heavy or undisputed champ. Wladimir is a damn good fighter but Vitali is an absolute beast. Definately the best Heavy in the world MO.
