Vote on the poll then give a little reasoning behind your pick. I did not put heavyweight on this poll due to the fact that holyfield got robbed and it pissed me off. Sorry heavyweight fans.
Welterweight was the best last year.
-Margarito ducked a Williams rematch
-Williams moved up in Class
-Mayweather retired ducking the 2 biggest names at the time
-DLH ducked Margarito then got raped by a lightweight
SuperBantam is a Solid division this year.
-Have a Unified Champion
-Another Epic Fight between Vazquez & Marquez
-Young undefeated champ that might give Vazquez a run for his money
Super Middleweight: the best division, loaded with talent - Kessler, Bute, Taylor, Inkin, Froch, Pascal, etc. Why is it not in the poll?
Lightweight: thinned with the departure of Pacquiao and Guzman, and the retirement of Casamayor, but still has JMM, J. Diaz, Campbell, etc.
Welterweight: Margarito, Clottey, Cotto, etc.
Light welterweight: with Pacquiao now fighting Hatton on May 2 for the linear title! Guzman, Holt, Bradley, Romanov, Torres, Dan, Kotelnik - what's there not to like?
Cruiserweight: I've been saying all along it's a good division, and now after Adamek vs. Cunningham some people are agreeing with me.
Heavyweight: bash it all you want, but there's my two favorites, Wlad and Vitali, and lots of good contenders like Haye, Arreola, Dimitrenko, Povetkin, etc. The division is lacking in American talent, but there are plenty of good European heavies
Oh yeah it's obvious you are European.
Funny when Haye was there it was a shit division but now since Adamesk is top it's all suddenly a great division
I agree. Haye was great at Cruiserweight very fast and powerful, but his defense needs just a little tuning.
Sorry dude, just it seemed a felicitous question, and a little off topic. No beef though man, I'd happily debate Kessler with ya, just if I do it more here I'll receive another anti Calzaghe bomb in the post tomorrow.
No problem man, I was just want to see him fight Taylor or a top level guy.
I was just asking..... Jeez.

Now, Dawson, and his gf is ok but a bit plasticy. Back to the thread topic...
People mentioning SMW or LHW as one of the best is odd to me, because you heard the excuse their not that strong in long periods recently. Suddenly now there a lot stronger, which doesn't quite add up. Tis all.
Kessler is widely regarded as the #1 at SMW. If you wana question that, start another thread.

You do love some Calzaghe. If you could see him fight anyone(via ringside) who would it be? By the way his girlfriend or whatever is smoking hot.

Who has Kessler beaten that makes him the best?

I'd have to go with Welterweight.
I do find it odd SMW is mentioned by some as one of the best now. For ages many have said it's been a poor division with not much talent. Now Calzaghe's vacated all the belts, Froch, Taylor, Bute, Kessler, Green and the like scrambling for belts suddenly now make it a great talkable division, even though Calzaghe clearly beats all of them, and beat the best best one. It'd odd, is all I'm saying.

The little guys just don't get the respect. Superbantamweight/junior featherweight has Israel Vasquez, Rafael Marquez, Juan Manuel Lopez, Celestino Caballero and (don't forget) Daniel Ponce de Leon. What other weight division has a top 5 like that. I'm not even including guys like Richardo Cordoba, Jhonny Gonzales and Steve Molitor. It's so good, I don't see how our homegrown (Philippine) talents like Bernabe Conception and Rey Bautista have any chance at all.
