The two fighters have unfinished business, in 2004 Larsen was set to face Manny Siaca for the WBA World title, but just one week before the fight Mads Larsen hurt his hand and was unable to fight. No way! Kessler always fights the best. You liar! I like Kessler, but the criticism is warranted. He has been fighting average fighters lately whilst his European nuthuggers spin all kinds of shit justifying it. I am sick of it. He has two chances left with me. Please. Boxing in Denmark 10 years ago was big in the media. Teampalle maked a big televised boxing show every month. Alot of good danish fighters. Most popular was Brian Nielsen. When he retired, Palle couldn't/wouldn't accept the low offer from the TV-network. Boxing in danish TV stopped inside few years. Then Kessler came through but only fought on the small TV network DK4, who they were contracted to. For a year or two they kept Teampalle alive. At the purse offer to the Kessler - Andrade fight, suddenly a old danish fighter Hans Henrik Palm won/was given the purse offer and then Teampalle wasn't obliged to the contract of TV DK4. The Andrade fight was on ppv, and the contract with DK4 was canceled. Now Teampalle had no tv-contract fore there fights. The Calzaghe fight away solved that. After the lose, Kessler and Mogens Palle couldn't make the same big fights. The Sartison was a economic disaster. In public the Haussler fights was a disgrace, but was Teampalles way back on nationally television. All of a sudden, boxing was back on danish television. And before the Larsen - Cocco fight there has been daily commercial for months and all of a sudden everybody (none boxing fans) in danish medias cry for the Larsen - Kessler fight. Everybody wants a paycheck.

If Larsen actually beat Bute it would be interesting. Apart from that, there is absolutely no reason Kessler should fight him Mads Larsen and Gunther Sauerland really should focus on the Bute-fight. It could very well be that the infamous 12. round against Andrade, and the ass-kicking he recieved in that round, has left Bute as an easier target. Some boxers never fully recover from a knockdown like that!

I understand that you are a Larsen fan but he is a 35 year old guy who has been winning decisions against ordinary journeyman fighters. That is the definition of a B class guy. So long as nobody dresses this up as anything other than a big money fight for Kessler with little to no risk then that's OK. He's in danger of becoming another Mundane though.

Larsen has been calling out Kessler for about a year now, but the reply from Kesslers side has always been - "Mads Larsen is not qualified to meet Mikkel and brings nothing to the game". But to be honest doesn't Kessler owe Mads Larsen a fight? One could argue that Kessler stole Mads Larsens title fight against Siaca (Kessler stepped up as Larsen had to cancel due to injury one week before the fight was scheduled). Kessler won the fight in 2004 and eventually conquerred the world stage - Mads Larsen in the prime of his career instead ended in a bitter dispute with his promoter, he finally got out of that contract 2½ years later. Now Larsen is back on the world staged ranked around #15 in the SMW division. Arguably as qualified an opponent for Kessler as anyone besides the top 6 fights that Kessler can not land. And economically a fight against Larsen apparently would bring much more than a fight against b-level american opponents. How can Kessler and Palle ignore Larsen? IMO they can't! Either Kessler lands a top fight against Calzaghe, Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik, Dawson, Wright or Froch. Otherwise Larsen should be next. :hitit: If Larsen ends up beating Bute in his next fight, the fight Kessler-Larsen is inevitable for fall 2009. If this fight is so easy for Kessler, he should be able to fight Larsen in march and still fight a big name in the early summer. Kessler and Larsen nows each other very well having been with the same promoter for ~7 years. I have a feeling this is not an easy fight for Kessler and he nows it!
