Vitali Klitschko.
Where is this fight going to take place?
Many people I speak to who are heavily involved in boxing have told me that this fight will take place Stamford Bridge but Stamford Bridge only holds 1 thousand more than, say, Goodison Park in Liverpool.
Surely such a huge boxing event should be held at one of the most huge stadiums on the planet, Wembley.
As I understand it Vitali's promoter didn't think they could fill Wembley. I think he may well be right, in view of the likely ticket prices. Goodison Park is, as you say, in Liverpool which is why the fight wouldn't be held there.. they are only looking at London, hence no Villa Park, no Old Trafford, etc, etc. London is Haye's home town, has a far bigger population than anywhere else to fill the seats (with money to afford them) and has the profile abroad. Other options were the Emirates and White Hart Lane but apaprently half the Klitschko camp are Chelsea fans, or something.
It will come down to availability, and who offers the best deal in the end. Remember the boxing capacity is higher than the footie capacity, as you can stick seats on a large chunk of the pitch as well (and call them all 'ringside'.. hehe..). The Emirates would be my choice.. a wonderful new, big capacity stadium with great facilities - and I say that as a Spurs fan!
Great post.
I totally agree.
This fight is not quite as big as say a Mayweather-Hatton re-match so Wembley would be too big.

Only 10,000 turned up for the Barett fight.
But was the Barett fight a Heavyweight World title fight?
Remember how many turned up at Wembley for Bruno the night he defeated McCall?
