I'm trying to post a new thread and for some reason this ends up as part of another existing thread. What's going on?
Earlier today, I posted that Evander had to KO Valuev because there was very little chance he would get a decision. Well, this was not in Germany, but it was a Sauerland event, which is having a German event in Switzerland. I don't want to stir anything, but I just want to ask something. How many times has Valuev received decisions that he clearly lost or drew, at best? To me, it's been three times.
Ruiz(1st fight)
Larry Donald
Evander Holyfield
Boxing organizations need to do something because it's a big turnoff for fans of the sport. It gets disgusting and also pointless to watch a fight when this happens. What's the use of spending the time watching a sport you love only to get a shady, unfair decision in the end? If us, the fans, are disgusted by this, how can boxing capture even casual fans when all this goes on? How can someone be excited about certain fights, let alone pay to watch them?Seriously, something has to be done for the sake and credibility of the sport. Disagree with my arguments if you will, but boxing has stopped been a sport contested on even terms a long time ago.
your saying evander landed enough punches, or actually DID enough to win 8 rounds.,... think about it... how many rounds after round 5 did he do anything at all?
I think Holyfield won, at least, 8 rounds. It's not that Holyfield was great, he was not. However, the little things he did were more effective than Valuev doing nothing and throwing lazy jabs once in a while.
My man, the irony of us rowing the talking about dodgey decisions and me defending Europe is un real. You did mean Germany however, not that I knew much about this event but it was by Sauerland so your right in effect a German event in Switzerland.
Decisions like that do not come around that often anywhere it was that bad. I'm enraged as anyone with this decision I really am. A totally external party needs to investigate the WBA, Sauerland, the judges and more, otherwise I have little faith in us addressing the corruption in this sport.
Yeah, but I was actually expecting it to happen. I'm not a "told you so" guy but this does not surprise me at all. Still, it bothers me and these robberies in boxing are too often now. Last week Oquendo now Holyfield. This can't go on.

PS. I don't disagree with you. But don't wait for the existing organizations to clear things up. They are responsible for this sport being a mess. It would do a lot better without them.
Then this would be a lost cause and, as much as I love boxing, I would be glad if it really becomes a dying sport since that would force organizations and promoters into being fair.
