Story of Joe's career is fighting past their prime fighters except when fighting unknown prospects like Lacy,Kessler
Hopkins
Eubank
Reid
Woodhall
Mitchell
Brewer
Jones
Hopkins is past his prime regardless whether he is capable of beating overrated hype jobs like Pavlik. Jermain Taylor would not of lasted 6 rounds with prime Hopkins.
Eubank,Reid,Woodhall,Mitchell,Brewer,Jones,Hopkins why is it Calzaghe always gets them when they are former champions ? because they are carefully selected thats why....... past prime fighters/champions to pad his record. Along with his willingness to cancel fights when he is not feeling too well its is a good indicator of how he had frauded his way up.
well get out of here then :smashfrea
Good comeback.
Peace out.

Who cares anyway. People who appreciate Calzaghe will not have their opinions changed by this thread, and those who don't appreciate Calzaghe won't change theirs. This thread makes no difference, and is therefore quite a pointless waste of everyone's time. I hope Mr. D. Kid wasn't expecting anyone to suddenly say "oh yeah, you're right! What a fraud! Calzaghe is shit!"
On that note, I'll go find another thread.
Cheers all. Have a good day.

Why should i stick up for a fighter because im a Brit ?that is the trouble on this forum too many Brits think you should stick by British fighters because they are British
I like to be entertained by fighters who pit their skills against the best fighters in their prime so the fights are competitive and you can see who is the better fighter.
Boxing to me is about entertainment not Britishness
well i automatically like you then lol
cant believe what im reading from another Brit

Oh, the irony...
Actually the "real boxing fans" are perfectly well aware that that is complete bullsh*t. There's this sort of strange assumption that all these wonderful 'prime' fighters were calling out Calzaghe, desperate to end his unbeaten run, gain huge PPV earnings.. cough.. and gain the highly prestigious.. cough.. WBO title.
What actually defined Calzaghe's résumé was not 'careful selection' on his part but the fact none of them (except Johnson, eventually) wanted to get it on. Tarver, Jones and B-Hop wouldn't touch him. I don't even blame them particularly, there were much more lucrative and less risky fights on offer, so why bother?
GREAT fighters seek out challenges and move up in weight
Duran,Trinidad,Leonard could of all stayed in their natural weight div they seeked to challenge themselves
Calzaghe frauded his way up by fighting former champs past their best
Haye is fighting another fighter past his prime and he is going to lose still. Vitali is going to kick the shit out of him and Vitali's not even in his prime anymore.
Oh, the irony...

A brit who clearly doesn't even know his own idols own resume for fighting fighters past there primes. David Haye has a huge history of it, and he even lost to Carl Thompson who wasn't even in his prime.
BTW, Lacy was the IBF champ. Kessler was the WBA and WBC champ. 'Unknown prospects'? Get a clue, mate.
please let me know who lacy and kessler have beaten? you can choose before OR after fighting joe if you want too...
except when fighting unknown prospects like Lacy,Kessler

You just made yourself look completely retarded with this topic, go on boxrec.com to find out your boyfriends history on fighting fighters past there primes.

Or you could say it's because these clowns weren't willing to risk anything against him when they had something to lose. Calzaghe was the only one with something to lose in all those fights, and he put it all on the line vs Kessler and Lacy aswell.
Calzaghe faced and slapped silly any challenger to his crown as the best super-middle. He did the same to those legends who had avoided him when he eventually did catch up to them like Lennox did to Mike and Holy, grabbing a Ring LHW title in the process.
Joe will never be recognized by real Boxing fans who understand his carefully selected resume.
