Welterweight: As THE RING has done with a few elite fighters in the past, Pacquiao is now rated in two divisions: welterweight and lightweight. It’s a
strange situation, as he will probably fight Hatton at junior welterweight next, but we couldn’t rank him there as he’s never fought at 140 pounds. Whenever possible, THE RING’s Editorial Board (with the participation of the Ratings Panel of boxing journalists from around the world) base fighter rankings on results within the division. Kermit Cintron, rated No. 10 last week, was pushed
out by Pacquiao’s inclusion.
So does he deserve this ranking?
but he fought at 147 against a 154 pounder, how the heck can he be ahead of quintana for example?
Quintana is the main person that bothers me the most that he is behind Pacquiao... Berto probably needs to be ahead too.
But really, Pacquiao being ahead of Quintana is a downright insult to Quintana.
lol, how do you rank a guy in the top 5 when he wouldnt stand a chance against any of the top 10? people are really drinking the manny koolaid after beating a completely shot fighter.
But you never called him a shot before the fight didn't you?
Probably not, but if Williams, Margarito, Cotto, and Clottey are placed ahead of him the order of the remaining names doesn't really matter. Why is Mosley listed while Williams is not? His last fight was at 154 too.
pacman is the best boxer in the world right now hence the p4p king title, so in a way he deserves itbut he fought at 147 against a 154 pounder, how the heck can he be ahead of quintana for example?
