After nearly 8 years at the top of heavyweight scene it looks like things are finally over for Harrison, after showing great heart in his last few fights its clear he is not what he once was. He has been involved in some great fights with ATG Danny Williams and won the highly regarded WBF heavyweight title. How do you rate his career?
he is a bearly Journeyman level pro who didn't have teh skillset, heart or Chin to mix it at European much less World level, and constantly tried to cash cheques he wasn't capable of paying.
Frankly the man is a disgrace to the UK, Amir Khan can find teh source of his poor reputation directly coming from Fraudley's mouth.
^ not true...he is not good enough to be a pro heavyweight..he just isnt
ametuer is a diff thing compared to pros
what pisses me of is he STILL says he can be world champ...wow
To be honest a rather pour one. Harrison was being touted for greatness, but yet didn't even claim a Lonsdale Title. I was writing about how his career panned out on another thread a few weeks back...
Harrison won Gold at the 2000 Olympics capping off a wonderfull amature career, big big things were expected as people were touting him to take over from Lennox Lewis as the next great British Heavyweight. He was signed right away to multi million pound contract.
Harrision seemed to get off to a good start, winning his first 19, but danger signs were already there as he was really getting booed even when winning. He was given his first loss against Danny Williams in 2005, Williams was 32 years old who's best days were thought to be coming to a end, as this was considered a stepping stone for Audley. It wasn't to be as Audley was beaten in a sloppy affair.
Over the next 4 years Harrision's career was stop and start. He would lose his next fight in the USA against Dominick Guinn on UD. But would comeabck to KO Danny Williams. In his last 4 fights he had won 2 and lost 2 and in those fights has been knocked out by journyman Michael Sprott in 3. Harrision was such a letdown, and didn't even win a British Title never mind a World Title. He still thinks he can become World Champion, but it is now a very slim chance.
He was recently calling out David Haye, saying Haye wound't even give him a fight on his promotion, but Haye ignored the claims.
yea i agree with al of this...u hit the nail right on the head here
audley in the early stages of turnin pro, needed guidence on what to do with his career and a good trainer...but he messed up...plus he really has no balls for the sport...he gets scrared of geting hit
btw u see audleys 'trainin at the gym', on frank warrens channel on u tube?
Audley is hitin the pads, and it is one of the worst pad work ive ever seen...no exegeration..
the guys body shots on the pads were wrong..from the vid..it seems he doesnt even know the basics...
you can sum up audleys fightin style like this

Who said Danny Williams in an ATG?! Haha, no he is not!
Audley has been a joke for a few years now. He is too scared to get hit and will never amount to anything else of note in his career.
Back in the day though, the Klits ducked him, too busy thinking they own the heavyweight division probably.
Williams is a guy with limited talent and a lot of heart. He would brutally KO Fraudley if they fight again.
Harrison already destroyed a Danny Williams fresh out of the bakers shop, he was training on cherry bakewells for that fight, that was his secret weapon against Tyson but Harrison was able to overcome this.
I guess this is supposed to be funny but I could do without this garbage thread.
If we wanted to talk seriously about it I would say that Harrison was the biggest underachiever of the past decade. His career, as it stands right now, is the biggest joke in the business.
What ever happend to 2Tough he loved Harrison.
It was obvious that when Audley was in his prime both Klits ducked him, Audley's mixture of great power, hand speed, chin, stamina would have been a nightmare for them. Its a shame they didn’t give Audley the chance to unify his WBF title.

this is a genuine thread for all us A Force fans, Take a look at his biography realising the dream this is a review of it from amazon, (this is not a joke)
Who gives a shit about a random person's opinion of a BOOK!!?
Hey, check out the Britney Spears album reviews on Amazon. There are no doubt some favorable reviews, so now should I believe what they are saying and go buy a Britney Spears album?
I refuse to believe this thread is serious. But let's take another look at the poll questions...
He had a great career and will be an ATG
He didn't have a great career, it was atrocious and he is nowhere near being a Hall of famer, never mind ATG. On the contrary, people can't wait until the guy calls it a day and admits he just doesn't have what it takes.
He had a good career but not an ATG
No. Again, he had an atrocious career, getting beat by taxi drivers and knocked out by a removal man. FACT.
He showed great heart and skill but underachived
His MASSIVE lack of heart is his exact problem! He does have some skills, but he doesn't have a clue how to use them unless it's against complete nobodies who can't fight.
Went in with best but never made it
He didn't get anywhere near fighting the best. LMAO! The best was Lewis. The best was Tyson. The current best, as much as I dislike them, are the Klitschko brothers. I will also include David Haye. Imagine what Haye would have done to Audley, never mind Vitali and Wlad? Again, he fought taxi drivers and removal men. His only decent win is against an untrained Danny Williams -- a guy who showed more heart in his fight against Potter (who Danny knocked out with his arm literally hanging out of the socket) than Audley has in his entire list of fights combined.
Honestly, I don't like to pick on Audley, I actually feel sorry for the guy, but damn dude, let's get real.

It is a joke. Like him. I won't be buying his book. lol. One of the worst fighters i've ever seen in the Uk. The thing is, he did have some talent, but didn't have the balls and backbone to match.
And the funny thing is, he STILL thinks he can make it. I bet the BBC were glad they broadcast some of his fights a few years ago. Great commercial success that was... :wtf:
I don't understand why every poll has to turn into a joke... Ya it was funny the few times with the godly Gary "the rocket" Lockett (forgive me) but it gets boring after a while
The Lockett threads where shit, this is a genuine thread for all us A Force fans, Take a look at his biography realising the dream this is a review of it from amazon, (this is not a joke)
In a day when so many athletes write about such meaningless achievements, it is heartening to read Audley Harrison's terrific story. A superb account charting his fight for amateur boxing in the UK to the wonderful culmination in winning the Gold Medal at the Sydney Olympics and becoming a national hero. It is excellently writeen, and gives a real insight into the life of a boxer and the hard work and determination needed to reach the top of the toughest sport in the world. Harrison is up-front and honest about his life and it is a testiment to him that he has risen from his early childhood days to become the sportsman that he is today with all that he has achieved. I would thoroughly recommend this book.
