Would he be regarded as univirtuous in his style and his attitude? Because there wasn't really anybody like Ali until Ali and people didnt like him initially.
Or maybe to put it this way. Was there anybody like Ali before Ali? That was comparable to him at all?
That's one of the interesting and peculiar things about boxing. Is how many different, totally different styles and ways to do it there are.
It even seems like many of the notable heavyweight champions had their own distinct style. None of them are exactly the same at all really.
So if you were going to say one style is orthodox, who would represent that?

Does anybody know how Ali used to train? I mean the things that were specific to him. What did he emphasize if you know?
I'm pretty sure he did alot of shadowboxing. More than other fighters. And he used to shadowbox in the pools didn't he?
Ali did devastate alot of Maricano type fighters though. Absolutely devastate with 1 two combinations. Left jab straight right knocked guys out. And you wouldnt think he was a big puncher but he had alot of knockouts like that.
Joe Frazier Said "If i could beat Ali, then so could Marciano"
Joe Frazier Rated Rocky higher then himself, and i tend to agree, He fought a similar style to Frazier but could BANG with both hands, I think he Would have beat Ali but that was the 50s
Yeah I guess that pretty much says it all.
He would crouch and go into something like a crab defense, he'd block on of Ali's jabs with his right glove and come back with his own jab, Norton had an underrated jab.
That's brilliant
didnt Norton have a very famous trainer?
So could anybody that fought the old time style beat Ali? Well I guess Frazier sort of fought the old time style. sort of, well I guess he pretty much did.

It was that Norton made Ali react to what he was doing, he just kept Ali off balance and out of sync all night in all 3 of their fights because of his ability to neutralize a bigger man's jab, he gave Larry Holmes the same problems.
What didn't he do that we able to outjab Ali because Ali had one of the best jab of all time.

That's probably because with his Jab he makes Ali react to what he's doing. I think that's the key. You have to make him react to you.
Is that accurate?
What Ken Norton did was probably the best way to fight a guy like Ali, he was able to neutralize Ali's jab and then come back with his own jab, he never let Ali get into his rhythm, which is the way to beat Ali, if you let him get into his rhythm, it's pretty much over.
