Yeah, Oscar is one of the first fighters I actively followed. Great career. He lost a fair few of his big fights but his resume and achievements are still outstanding. He went out facing the p4p#1.

Not to slap around Oscar when hes down(or quitting on his stool) but it wasn't that great of a career. He may of fought a ton of huge names and I will never argue that but he lost to almost all those big names. He is a good fighter but never become a great fighter imo. He beat Mosely in the return but failed to get the nod, ko'd Vargas, boxed Trinidads ears off and Oscars performance v Chavez 1 was one of the purest displays of boxing i have seen, showed heart and stamina v Quartey etc. I can understand people who think Oscar falls just short of greatness but i think its a catergory he just about creeps into

He is a good fighter but never become a great fighter imo. no he didnt win all of those fights but you can name atleast two in which he was ROBBED in and the fights he did lose were all competitive fights the only fights that he lost that were blow outs were the hopkins fight and this pac man fight. other than that every fight he lost was very competitive cept for the two i mentioned other wise.

Agreed, DLH in his prime was a hugely talented boxer who would have held his own in any era, he will be missed
