its all hype. i must be insane if i don't agree that $54.95 is "inexpensive entertainment".
that's fine man, just don't order it
it's really not big a deal, an event like this is PPV worthy (unlike Cotto-Jennings/Pavlik-Rubio)

dela hoya charged the same amount against mayorga and had almost 1m buys.
If u think it could break the 2 million mark you are insane.
I see it doing around the 500k mark.
Since all my money is tied up in bets, i would take a ban or avatar bet on that. I'll permanently ban my self if it does 500k or less. You do the same if it does 550k or more. Deal? This fight will do around a 1-1.5 mil.
I feel PPV's should be reserved for Major Events such as this. Now im not trying to condone ppv's. I wish all fights were free, but compared to most of the shit that has been on ppv, this event is justified. Now im a big Cotto fan, but there is no fuking way that im paying to see him fight this Jenning's guy.
Question, what is so different about this, and when Michael Jordan was charging $200 for his sneakers, when he knew damn well that the majority of his market was young black inner city youth who sold drugs, robbed, etc... just to get a pair of his sneakers? He was a millionaire 10x over, yet he felt the need to finanically rape all those young kids who idolized him.
Who's Michael Jordan?

dude
i'm with you 100%, i couldnt have said it better myself (on all points)
In a way you are being forced. I know loads of boxing fans who would chop their left nut off to see Mayweather vs Cotto "pre Marg". If the price was $100, people wouldn't want to pay it, but they would be have to pay that price to watch the fight. Peoples love for boxing is being raped.

Easy solution. Dont want to pay, then dont. You're not being forced to buy/watch this.

"Yet Arum remained insistent that despite a hefty price tag of $54.95, the pay-per-view broadcast of this weekend’s bout is a bargain"
lol.....Sorry kids no Christmas this year, we are going to watch people punch each other in the face.

what's so OUT OF THIS WORLD about a PPV being $54.95?
I imagine $55 is quite a lot of money for the average American in this current climate. Oscar could have made a compromise with the pricing.

Oscar is disgraceful. In the hard times we are all facing this fight is ridiclously priced.
The only thing recession proof about this fight is Oscars bank balance.
