mexico is poor............hell, put TV off free TV and boxing is dead in Mexico.....again.......theres a reason the recent latinamerican HBO plus fights(like Santa Cuz-Pitalua,De Leon-Marchiano) are impossible to find...
And on top of that, boxing aint even that big in Mexico......lightyears below football......
......but it's the same in this country mate. football is king!!!! but we follow our sporting idols to the ends of the earth like no other country does....irrespective of cost!!! although even i've got to say, Hatton is a sheer phenomenon!!!!
thats fair enough.....but it'll be a ****ing joke if no-one from Mexico or US travel across!!!! whats the point????? meant to be the 2 biggest names in boxing for christ sake!!!!! just don't understand this thing with US fans who don't travel to watch their fighters/teams....it's got nothing to do with finances in general though cos America is the richest country in the world!!!!!!!!

to be honest the average joe over here doesn't know who the **** he is Hatton could fight madonna and still fill a stadium over here, its only the ppv making this fight to be fair.
he will be respected,no doubt!!...no matter what u think of his motives,he does seem like a decent bloke. but it would be so much better if he was a total bell-end like PBF!!!! hahaha!!!........come on Ricky,**** DLH off and do everything in your power to get PBF to Wembley instead. THAT is the fight everyone wants to see
Do you box?
Oscar will be respected here no doubt
He's a well liked guy

For those American fans with the spare cash it would be a great way to spend it, though. Fight nights at Brit footie stadiums have an atmosphere you wouldn't believe. I'd hope they fix up something pretty special for the undercard too.
You know you have a point but I would say that this fight, between Oscar and Hatton, might break the Hymen: Americans will see this fight {PPV} and watch the great spectacle that England provides. It could draw interest for future fights to get fans to leave the States and visit our allies.
It would be great if they show the build-up of the fans...and show people crowding into bars to watch the fight.
It's important to show the great sporting culture...and especially mixing drinking and sports with laughs and cheers. It makes things "normal" and accepting

Yeah, I agree, but not so much with Mexico; they aren't exactly a rich country. There is a reason why they are risking their lives to come here, even in a down time with the US economy.
I'm for travel and have friends that love traveling, but many seem to prefer to travel to South American countries. I guess they think its part of "America" ;)
S. America is the "in" thing right now. It's cheap and there is an allure about it that is "refreshing' from the Parents generation and prior generations that preferred Europe.
I'll go almost anywhere.
I wonder what the statistics are though with Americans traveling over-seas to see sporting events; especially when Americans are competing. For instance: the Olympics.
Lance Armstrong seemed to do well. Although I would say there is a difference between cycling fans and most boxing fans.
There is a lot that goes into it.
If I have the cash next year; I'll go.

I tried to edit/add to the comment but something went/goes wrong with the posts with "error" so I have to erase.
What I was going to add was about the Economy being bad, so celebrities might be the only ones to afford it.
Most Americans also look at Vacations as somewhere Sunny with a Beach and hot ladies.
I'm hoping for a miracle and the economy goes up so I can go.
