I feel sorry for that guy. In every fight I have seen him, if he possessed decent punching power he could have won. The man upstairs played a cruel joke on him. He possesses all the qualities a good fighter needs, just missing the key ingredient.
I felt bad when I watched the post-fight interview and seen Paulie looking like he was gonna cry, saying he deserves better than to be stopped. I agreed with him.
EDIT - Fair point hammerhiem. I am not deluded, maybe just exaggerated a little bit. I think against Cotto, Cotto was dead at the weight that night, anyone with power and strength would have f*cked him up. There were occasions when Paulie was able to push him around, and even stop him in his tracks with punches. Against Hatton, Paulie was catching him clean, and Hatton is always wide open to be hit, but it was like hitting a bowling ball with a toffee hammer.
Youuuuuu Plonker.
I think if he had more power he'd probably be working a factory job somewhere, talking about being a "contenda" but ****ing his hand up so much that he had to retire.
I know where you're coming from though. That combo he landed on Hatton in the 8th that had Hatton so completely caught would've made him a top 10 fighter immediately if he had the power that Margarito or even Cintron does.
I admit i felt bad for paulie myself but it aint career ending he can come back..
Even though he cant hit 4 shit he dosent have to be a big puncher to be able to achieve the things he wants to achieve..His got great skills he should look for a new trainer maybe even floyd snr himself would work wonders with Paulie's style...

if paulie had a punch it definitely would've changed the dynamic of the fight.
In every fight I have seen him, if he possessed decent punching power he would have won. You sir are deluded (Ok not deluded, just exaggerating a little.), both his two losses would have been just as bad punch or no punch.
Cotto f*cked him up badly and Hatton beat him in every department of the fight.
