It should have been a knockdown. Not only did a punch land, but the punch clearly effected Taylor as he went on the defensive for a good minute or so after making it to his feet.
I agree with the ref's decision because I think Taylor's fall was the result of him being off balance, and not the result of a punch. Yes, the punch hit him, but hit grazed his shoulder before hitting the back of his head, where it didn't even land flush. Taylor didn't seem affected by the punch. I think he would've fallen down had he been hit or not.
That said, in the heat of the moment, I'm surprised the ref didn't call it a KD. I think most refs would have, and it would be hard to argue with them. The fact that he didn't rule it as a KD makes me wonder what his biases were heading into the fight...
I never got around to watching it. I heard it was a bit of a snoozer..
Is it worth watching?
i think it is, im in class now so i watch it when the professor isnt talking
good fight alot of action on taylors part, good combo's
so u see it clean?
some people dont and agree with the ref's choice
I thought it could have went either way but if it were me I would have ruled it a knock down but I had the advantage of seeing the instant replay. the reff didn't...Lefty
