There are 4 levels to a boxer's career.
Level 1. Get a couple easy wins under your belt.
(Fight the easy fights. Burgers, chumps, etc......for experience and to build your record. no disrespect to burgers and chumps).
Level 2. Make a name for yourself
Fight other good prospects and past their prime known fighters (undefeated, 1's and 2's, etc..) to separate yourself from the rest, make a name for yourself.
Level 3. Validate yourself
Validate your dominance over your career by winning titles and beating your peer champions.
Level 4. Cement your legacy
Enter Club Elite. Picking and choosing, fighting the fights that mean something to your legacy and your bank account!!
WHO IS MAKING THE BETTER CAREER DECISION.
MARGARITO OR COTTO
MARGARITO LEVEL 2
Margarito is a fighter in which you can not fight his fight and expect to win unless you are stronger and bigger than him
Margarito is an ALL OUT Brawler... He is bent on getting in the ring and throwing punches in regardless of Defense.
He is truly a The Boxing Definition of a "Pitbull" He is going for kill right away with no re-guard for the others persons abilities.
But also That's why he lost to Slick Black Fighters like Rodney Jones, and Larry Dixon. They beat him because they did not stand there and just throw punches. They moved and boxed him. Just Like Paul Williams did.
Margarito has trouble with Movement, and speed.
The Recent Moved By Margarito ducking
Mosley for 2 Million
Williams for 4 Million
When His highest Payday ever is 1.5 Million, and when he has nothing on the table to fall back on IS STUPID.
Margarito you are not some Box Office star. You do not have P.P.V Appeal.
You have not validated your self as a Great Fighter, in which your resume
and career achievement speaks for it's self. You have made a Name for yourself. But this is when the work really starts. This when you are suppose to validate yourself now as a legit legend of the sport. Not Another Winky Wright who became famous by beating a well know fighter, but never took the risk required to validate himself as a truly great fighter in the sport.
Margarito you are on the fast Line of being irrelevent if you do not take the opportunity when it is presented to you...You have did a complete 180...
You went from the most avoided fighter, to the fighter who is now openly avoiding fights.
COTTO LEVEL 2
Cotto has the most Potentinal of any boxer in boxing today. His talent rivals the best of them He is starting to become an all around fighter. And that is dangerous. He has a crushing jab, and powerful hook. He has under rated ability to adapt.and he will come back from punishment, with offense instead of defense.
But He still gets hit a lot, and wastes a lot of punches. Sometimes he punches from too far out and leaves gaps
where he can be countered or beaten to the punch. Straight Right Hands and Upper Cuts will get him all the time.
AND he his defense is way below where it needs to be.
The Recent Career move by Cotto fighting for another VACANT title. When the person who own that title wanted to fight Him before he vacated is STUPID.
When is cotto going to understand that fighting for vacant titles is not
making his situation better, but worst. Because THOSE FIGHTS ARE NOT VALIDATING HIM. BUT RAISING QUESTIONS ABOUT HIM.
Question like: Why does Cotto all of a sudden want to fight for the WBO belt now that Williams vacant it, Knowing all along Williams was ready to fight him.
No Matter what you say. Cotto has not validated himself as a great fighter.
he has made a name for himself as a good fighter on the cusp of greatness.
but he has not validated himself as a great fighter.
THIS IS THE PROBLEM
he is still trying to make a name for himself instead of validate himself.
MY QUESTION IS:
WHO IS MAKING WORST CAREER MOVE?
Margarito or Cotto?
As usual, we can sit here and try criticize fighters who show HEART and remind true fans what boxing really is all about, what made boxing the sport it was. Recently other "top" fighters have "cemented their legacy" (level 4?)fighting way less than acceptable competition and blind fans approved those fights and bought them. Real question is, are the fans getting their money's worth watching those fighters or level 2 fighters like Cotto or Margarito? Whether Cotto and Margarito decide to take an easy fight after their brutal last brawl puts them down or not, that's up to opinion, but as long as they continue to fight the way they've fought recently, I support them no matter if they take an easy immediate fight. That's the way I see it.
Jab, what dont you get?
Your logic and perspective is backwards
You think in circles, in which your arguments come across as a huge contradiction.
and You have no moderation when you present your case.
So what I am telling you is your a waste of time.
In other words you you decline to defend your claims and logic. Typical of you and all Floyd nuthuggers. Like Deeval said................:owned2:
Queerboy this has to be the dumbest response ever..
Even That Flamer Sin City comes harder than you.
How about you try, sitting down somewhere and figuring out

No, you being the smart person that you are realize you can't slide all that bullshit and twisting of the facts by me and not get called on it. You want historical facts? floyd was great at 130. He was excellent at 135 the second time against Castillo, but besides that (no real fault of his own) didn't really fight anyone there. At 140 he never made a big fight and fought second teir guys (also not entirely his fault) and at 147 he he fought the weakest link for a title, a front runner and then decided he'd rather make money fights than take on the best at that weight. So tell me, what have I said that isn't factual?
Cmon, you're gonna make Horus dissapear for another 6 months. Ownage at its finest!
margarito should fight clottey. ther both on top rank. clottey put up a better fight then cotto ands hes a world champion. they both need fights they were suppose to fight before. margarito wanted to rest the first time well hes been resting long enough. hbo bob arum whoever make this fight happen. JOSHUA CLOTTEY VS ANTONIO MARGARITO!
Jab do you remember the conversation we had about you saying floyd was a natural Welter Weight...??
Of course. You had no answers then. You have no answers now. I'll reprint my response from that thread, but what does that have with the lies you have told in this thread? Greatest at 130? Top 5 all time lightweight? And one of the best at 140? Oh, and lets not forget all time gteat featherweight. A weight he never fought at.
I've already answered this question and you ignored it when I made the DLH comparison.
Was Mayweather ever a big puncher? No. Is he roughly the same height as most other WW's (Zab, Clottey, Berto, Cotto)? Yes. Has he lost a significant amount of hand and or foot speed? No. Is he still ripped and in peak physical condition? Yes. When he did fight a decent welter (judah) did he not show more than enough ability to compete at that weight? Yes he did. Add these things up and you can come to the easy conclussion that he is now a natural welter. And to top it all off, he choose to fight there so any argument about him not being a natural 147 is null and void. I've never expected him to fight every top fighter at that weight, but I don't think its unreasonable to ask for him to make some of those fights and prove his worth at that weight. He has not done that. That isn't hate, its fact.
Do you remenber this?

And I tryed to have a real discussion with you about being a natural WW
compared to the other WW's...?
That conversation right there you proved to me, that you had no rational thoughts, or no Logical answers...You flame the discussion out...
and made yourself look foolish... And you resort to name calling...
All you have to do is go to the answer I copied and pasted in this post.
What name calling?: I called you a liar. I show irrefutable proof of that in this thread alone.

everything you talk about has to do with cotto. you probably have gay fantasies about him and floyd.
Why are you trolling around my threads....LOL...
It seems like you want some of Horus Attention..
You probably fantasize about Me too, you Queerboy.
stoll being a troll, and recognize what you are in society and fall in line.
Lol.
Give it up! Everyone has said it did 475! Quit being a sore loser!
I want my godamn points, quit being the little girl that you are!
I will wait till the end of the year when the official numbers come out..
because i remember when people said Cotto/Judah did 370 P.P.V.s buys..
when at the end of the year it did 225 P.P.V buys.
I dont believe anything Arum says, that guy is S.O.B at it finest.
and I will wait till HBO release it P.P.V numbers at the end of the year in which
bob arum cant bitch and complain about holding the numbers until he get enough money to pay his fighters because he would had a whole year to pay his fighters before the end of the year numbers have to be release.
I find it funny, Why does Hbo never have a problem releasing every other fighter P.P.V numbers
except Cotto's...???
HBO already release the Calzaghe Jones Official Numbers..why havent they did
the same thing for Cotto, and why does they always have this problem with Cotto P.P.V numbers..??
I dont want speculation I want official numbers.

Yea, it's Top Rank that doesn't release the numbers until the end of the year, it's not a Cotto thing.
And the fight 100% undoubtedly did over 400K, it's not even debatable.
Pay the man Horus.
Provide a source from HBO...!

Actually you can't discuss anything with me because I bring irrefutable facts while you nuthug and lie. Tell us again how Floyd is an all-time featherweight? Tell us how you came to the conclussion that Floyd was a top 5 all-time lightweight with only 4 title fights there and one of them many people thought he lost? Tell us how you rank him the best at 140 when he never fought a meaningful fight there? Tell us why he never fought Margarito, Cotto or Williams when all were considered better than slow soft hitting Baldomir? You don't want to have this discussion because you know I'll tear thru every lame ass argument you can bring to the table.
I liked Floyd at 130 and 35. After that though.....he became a mouthy punk not willing to back it up against the best.
