im not certain but i think there is a very good chance paulie will beat hatton.. it seems like alot of people on this board arent giving paulie too much of a chance..
i think the fight with mayweather may have ruined hatton, and he struggles against slick boxers.. paulie can be slick and has fast hands, if he can dictate the tempo he can win this fights by decision
The "cotto couldnt do it so how could hatton" line is very weak.
Cotto was a weight drained fighter, and really only a shadow of what he turned out to be at welterweight. The weight made a huge difference, Cotto now would whipe the floors with malignaggi and knock him out with in six no problem. Cotto just simply was not the same fighter then that he is now.
Everyone knows Cotto was weight drained towards the end of Jr WW, but he wasn't a "SHADOW"of what he is at WW now. For the sake of argument, let's say Cotto wasn't at his maximum power. He still moved and countered the same. And if lack of power means he was a "SHADOW", his shots were STILL powerful. Malignaggi's comment about Cotto was that he'd "never been hit so hard". If his shots were so soft, they were "soft" enough to bash up Malignaggi's face and break a bone.
He can take a hit is MY point, that's why, win, lose, or draw, it'll probably go the distance.
But you're implying that Cotto wasn't hitting as hard as Hatton will be this Saturday, correct?
Does that mean Paulie WILL get KO'd?
Hatton is going to come in fresh, he is going to be strong, and bully Malignaggi the entire fight. Hatton is going to be the general in the ring on saturday, i got up to 50k that says he wins... ill even give 2 to 1 odds... im really looking for my 50k to your 25k, PM ME.
I won't even argue with you here. This might totally be the case. But I'm still 99.9% sure it'll go to the score cards.
As a matter of fact, the cotto that fought paulie malignaggi that night, would have got knocked out by a prime hatton.
WHOA, too many 'if' clauses in this one.
You're saying: If we go back to Hatton's prime, presuming we know exactly which point this is if it's not now, and matched him with Cotto's last jr ww fight, who MAY OR MAY NOT have been at his best at that point, then you PRESUME a coordination of things would've happened to cause a Hatton victory over Cotto.....far-fetched-what-if, and out of reach conclusion.....waist of our time to argue.

i agree with you 110%...
thanks for putting my name in the thread title by the way...thats a first i believe.
you're from the bay area? what part?
and to continue this discussion...
i really honestly believe paulie can win...im SO ****ing excited about this fight...it's only 3 days away...but it feels like a VERY LONG 3 days...
I been waiting to see this fight for a long time and i think its going to be a very good fight.
i say the fight comes down to whoever can control the fight.
if paulie controls the fight there is NO WAY hatton outboxes him.
if HATTON controls the fight there is NO WAY paulie out slugs him...
thats how its going to be...
I say paulie wins a close SD that he pulls out in the championship rounds.

I know Forbes has always trained with Jeff. But I recall hearing excitment on his part on regards to having May Sr in his corner.
You might be right, but if I'm not mistaken, it was the first time Sr focused on him.
That could be, my point was just that he never had to change that much from one mayweather to the other...From Billy Grahm to Mayweather Sr. the difference is huge tho
Forbes is training with the Mayweathers from a long time, all of them, sr,uncle, and even Jeff. hes always been a slickster with little power and great chin.

What difference does it make whether cotto could or not? they are different fighters altogether.
What difference does it make?!
Common, don't throw that 'style's-makes-fights' easy way out argument without estimating a little.
Malignaggi had the chin to take Cotto's BOMBS, and fought 12 hard rounds with that broken cheek bone.
Point is to say that because of who Paulie is, this fight is going the distance.
Not necessarily meaning he's assured a victory, but because he CAN take hard hits for 12 round, and doesn't ko his opponents, there's a REALLY GOOD CHANCE it's going to the score cards.
If Paulie became champ by winning all his fights by decision, then there's good reason to believe he can do it again Saturday.

how about if Hatton wins you give me 15k and if Paulie wins you choose my avatar for a month?
are you sure you even have enough points? do you have other bets going on?
i expect to win my others bets!!!
Cant do the 15K unless is 2-1.....
People are missing something. Paulie's not that slick. He can only move one way, and he doesnt have enough head movement to keep his hands down like that. He just has a good jab when he throws it, and when he gets going he can fire off some quick combinations. Hatton wont have a hard time finding Paulie at all.
With odds like that. You must not be very confident....
im not!...
thats why the odds... i think paulie can outbox him..... but im not sure about that... plus... i have become a hatton fight... so :nono:
this one is for fun 4 me... cant care less...

no your not the only ones
If you think Paulie will win put your e-points where your mouth is. I got 15k on Hatton. Bet me, ladies.
since you are so confident
3-1 ODDS.. AND I GOT PAULIE WHAT U SAY?
who even has greater footspeed Hatton or Malignaggi?
The argument for a Malignaggi win is that he will jab use movement and continually get Hatton to reset. I can't see that ever happening. Hatton's feet will get him where his body needs to be all night long, and Malignaggi has nothing for him on the inside.
Good point Dice!
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
Did anyone else notice how much improvement Forbes came in with against Berto? Mayweather Sr made a BIG difference training him!!!!
I can see Hatton coming in with improvement - INCLUDING a boost in confidence having May Sr in his corner.

Can he win? Yes. But he had better not let his pride get the best of him, and stick to his game plan. Because if tries some macho shit, he is going to get a beating along the lines of what Cotto did to him.
true..thats the most important thing...he has to bang with him here and there, but just after having him tired and frustrated, and just in short periods. Other than that, keep jabbing him on his tracks and move to his left to avoid Hatton from passing his punches and get the clinches
So in how many seconds is Paulie's fist gonna break??? I swear sometimes I wonder if he even has bones left in that fist??
Good point Dice!
I'm routing for Paulie.
If Cotto couldn't knock Paulie out, I don't see Hatton doing it.
This fight's going the full 12 round distance. And Paulie's quick enough to win by decision.
BUT HIS HANDS!!!!!!!! How many times has he broken them already ???!!!! This could be a big issue in the fight - if not his hair :pat:
If he beat N'dou 1/2 blind and one handed, he's got more than a good chance to win Saturday, so long his hands hold up.
