The last part of that segment was lifted from Granada TV. Not known for it's boxing exclusives. It could be some no-mark reporter trying to make a name for himself on a hunch.
Exactly, the clip wasn't even part of Sky Sports it was taken from some shitty northern news channel called Granada which i'm sure half of the UK haven't even heard of.
I wouldn't hold your breath people it's quite likely this is complete dogpoo.
hes only had a year layoff... maybe he just needed a year to himself... spend some money, party... get it out of his system for a good year... time to get back to work and make a lot more money
I think that he was under the impression that he had enough money to last him the rest of his life. After checking his balance after a year of probably blowing 40 million bucks between the lawsuits the theft, and the extravagant life style, he is having second thoughts about not needing money.
This is the most anti-climactic return ever when it happens. Seriously; did anyone think he wasn't actually just on vacation? hell, he took almost all of 2004 off too.
Honestly a one year lay-off isn't a true retirement. A retirement, from a historical standpoint, is only going to be viewed as such in hindsight- I think- if it's a few years long. Two, three at least. Not fighting for a year and a half is a hiatus, a brief respite from the sport's punishment and, to be honest, probably a marketing strategy to milk more money by making it a 'comeback fight'.
thanks silencers.as i mentioned before, and as you said, those guys where established.
No problem.
My mistake, Pacquiao-Solis was rumored to be around 350k but I don't think the numbers were ever released for that one either but yeah, Pacquiao does good numbers against known names, Mayweather is a known name so that would be a big event if it comes off.

Pacquiao-Morales 1 - 350k
Pacquiao-Morales 2 - 360k
Pacquiao-Morales 3 - 350k

Pacquiao-Barrera 2 - 350k

Pacquiao-Marquez 2 - 400k
Pacquiao does good numbers against known names, the Solis fight didn't do too well but that didn't get much hype at all and was done by Top Rank. I don't think the numbers were ever released for Pacquiao-Diaz.
thanks silencers.as i mentioned before, and as you said, those guys where established.
yeah i'd like a link or this is bullshit.
and with the exception of marquez, those where all ready established names.

I would never want to see a hatton floyd rematch. Floyd made easy work of him the first fight, why would they bother fighting again?
Probably because they can make an absolute gutload of money for doing it.
since you always keep track of that shit, what where pac's last ppv numbers?

Floyd is coming back for Pacquaio.
Because Pacquaio is the only fighter left who has the universal status of being a great fighter and has the star power to bring Floyd out of retirement to make
a mega fight.

I agree with Reed, Williams most risk least reward and we all know Floyd ain't coming back for chump change!
