i rewatched Lewis v Vitali today and man Vitali would of hammered David Haye back then and he probably still could now if he is half as good as he was then what suprised me more than anything looking back was how fast Vitali looked and how slow Lewis looked and how Lewis was blowing real hard like he was really out of shape
i think Vitali is one of the best HW ever i gotta give him his due i think he could hang with a lot of great HW based on his chin and size alone
lewis was at least fighting with his hands high against vit, his hands were ridiculously low against mcall and espescially rahman. he was just looking to be knocked out in those fights
His right hand was hard, unforgiving and hurtful, but the man lacks truly explosive power.Even the British commentator Barry McGuigan mentioned this during the fight.
He should go after Wlad, knock him out and let Vitali get just a little older then seek a fight with big bro.
You're missing something. It's Klitschko brothers who rule the HW division, they pick their opponents from the current crop.
On the side note, I can't believe how many people give Vitali credit due after his fight with Peter.
I don't think Haye should fight Vitali - V wins that easily IMO. Haye would have a much better chance against Wlad I think.

I remember recalling that if Vitali had the right hand of a Oliver McCall or Hasim Rahman or (YES!) even a Wladimir Klitschko the heavyweight title would have changed hands there and then.

Haye also keeps his left hand too low
Vitali can get away with it, he is tall and has an iron chin
Haye on the other hand CAN'T get away with it, he has a glass chin.
Vitali destroys Haye
i hate to agree with you but you are 100% right
Vitali also is a very effective counter puncher albeit akward looking

well he managed to get away with it enough to become undisputed cruiserweight champ, and if his chin was completely glass Mormeck who is a hard punching cruiserweight would have knocked him out. Haye does need to keep the left higher against the klits though.
The thing that I don’t get is people saying Haye has no chance against Vitali at all, I disagree with this, Ok Vitali would be the favourite to win but Haye still has a small chance of winning. He has the speed to give him trouble and we have to remember that Vitali hasn’t been in a tough fight for years its not as if Vitali cant be knocked out, I remember seeing him get hurt by Sanders. Vitali will most likely win but i wouldn’t be surprised if Haye won.
Well i Think Haye has a chance against Wlad due to his chin but Vitali would be very difficult, I think Vitali would probably win but who knows how well Vitali will deal with Haye's speed at this point he wasnt really tested by Peter.
Haye/VK forget about it.Even VK knows Haye dont stand a chance against
him thats why his trying to get at him before his brother does and i will tell you why now...
Haye has a much better chance against Vlad who is a safety first fighter and can be cracked upon and hurt at anytime. Not saying Haye beats Vlad but he stands a good chance..
VK on the other hand different kettle of fish.VK will ruin Haye.Haye is way to open when he throws his own bombs VK will see the gaps and capatalise on them...
Plus the verdict is still out on Haye.So he blew Monte away at the weekend so what who the fcuk was barrett to begin with anyway.Yes its a good 2nd fight at heavy but its hard to judge Haye against the likes of the Klits untill i have seen him in with some better heavies...
Samuel peter those types would be ideal next.To fight either Klit right now would be a stupid move
Vitali landed that huge right hand in the 2nd round that hurt Lewis very bad and had him staggering like a drunk....Props to Lewis for surviving that round, he had an underrated chin.
Yes,but my point still stands. The evidence is there in Lewis' career when he didn't come in 100 % and badly underestimated his opponent.
BTW be happy Wlad Owns that I'm giving Vitali's brother his props...:luvbed:

I'm a fan of both.but i think haye should fight wlad.his chances would be better. haye has speed.and that's something that could help him overcome the size advantage.vitali, is huge,he's almost like a superheavyweight version of hopkins.he's cagey as hell, has a great beard, and can punch when he wants to.
Although everyone agrees that no one can see him getting past vitali, don't you find the guy is entertaining, boxing is entertainment and haye is bringing it to the heavyweight devision, no matter what the outcome i respect fighters skill but i also respect people that are exciting to watch and haye is one of them. Vit and Vlad both have the skills to put haye away don't get me wrong but the whole constant jabbing with a big right/uppercut here and there isnt good to watch.
i agree but you gotta respect Vitali he does at least bring it a bit more
i dont like Wlad cause he is negative and he holds to much

I really don't know how Vitali was still standing after than uppercut in the final round of the fight (before it was stopped)
yeah he has a great chin
that is the same punch that had Tommy Morrison Ko'ed allthough that is not hard to do
