You're expcetation levels are too high. Past his best or not Barrett is a solid professional who is still a gatekeeper to bigger things in that division. Knocking him down 5 times on route to a 5 round knockout is a good performance for your first real step up to heavyweight. Could've took him out sooner, ref could've stopped it sooner, but Haye was being cautious and looking for the big finish. Barrett went down at least once to avoid a bigger punch that could've stopped it coming behind. You're being silly if you think thats completely unimpressive.

5 knockdowns and a knockout against a decent contender is impressive. It has to be. Would you have required him to punch him to death within 5 seconds in order to be impressed?

right here....Haye is a hype job. The guy almost got Koed by a guy who's been a shadow of his former self since 2002. not to mention that it took him 5 ****ing rounds to finish his ass. Even Couser did a better job. (though he lost the rematch). No wonder Vitali is now going ape shit and wants a fight with Haye. Haye looked pretty good last night, though he went for the big KO to impress the audience and didn't stay cool and wait to counter Barrett using his speed advantage like he should have. Personally i think he can beat Wlad right now, he will need a few more fights before he has a chance against Vitali though.

Come on now. I'm a big Haye fan, but he still is a hype job at the moment. He's relatively untested at heavyweight, he came through his first test with flying colours but some negatives. If you're a Haye fan, you really dont want him fighting either of the Klits until he gets another two or three fights under his belt.
