Recently quoted on pnj.com, Jones Jr's manager McGee Wright discussed the Joe Calzaghe vs Roy Jones Jr fight, in which Calzaghe won by unanimous decision.
Wright stated to the publication: "When Roy dropped Joe he got out of his game plan. He started looking for too many big shots instead of working and staying busy, and that's really why he lost."
Wright believes Jones Jr was one punch away from victory the entire fight, stating: "Roy was one punch away the whole night. I think the cut bothered him a lot and it really never stopped bleeding."
Wright also had a message to fans on behalf of Roy Jones Jr.: "He's disappointed, sure, but I think he mostly just wants to let everyone know that he's OK and he'll be OK. We're going to let everything settle and take it easy for a few months."

Wright is trying to cushion the dramatic loss, I don't think it's working. The impact was much too hard.
I like Roy but he's done aganst elite competition.
Roy's manager is clearly trying to cushion the loss,Which to me say's that he's not looking after Roy's best intrest's.Hope Roy retires because he's gonna end up with his name being pimped out by wright and beaten by a bum.
At least now he can retire with his head held up high with a loss against an elite and well skilled fighter like the 46-0 Calzaghe.
