Amir Khan has vowed to avenge his defeat against Breidis Prescott by beating the Colombian in a rematch.
Khan suffered the first professional loss of his career at the hands of Prescott in September when the South American knocked out the Commonwealth lightweight champion after just 54 seconds.
The Bolton fighter sacked trainer Jorge Rubio shortly after the defeat and replaced him with experienced American Freddy Roach.
Khan revealed that Roach has advised the 22-year-old to get back in the ring with Prescott if he has the chance.
He said: "I spoke to Freddy and he said if you can get that fight again then go for it, because you can beat him and do a clinical job on him so it's a fight in the future that I would like to have. I have learned from my mistakes.
"I still have my goals and my ambitions that I want to achieve. It has knocked me back a bit but I am still going to do my job.
"I spoke to Ricky Hatton before I came out here and he said that that punch would have knocked him out. Prescott was a tough opponent. He had a 95% rate so he was no mug.
"In a couple of fights' time I will be back up at the top again and then it will be my turn."
Khan will make his return to the ring in London on December 6 when Dagenham super-featherweight Nicky Cook defends his WBO title for the first time.
The Olympic silver-medalist has re-located his training base to Los Angeles and revealed his new coach has re-ignited his belief that he can realise his dream of becoming world champion.
Roach has coached well-respected fighters like Bernhard Hopkins, Oscar de la Hoya and Mike Tyson, and Khan believes his experience has helped him become a better fighter.
"Freddy has trained all the best fighters and if he tells me I can go all the way then it gives me more confidence. He is a great trainer" said Khan.
"He has made me relax and enjoy the sport more. I've realised it's not all about going in there being direct.
"I should be going in there and trying to catch them out. I should be doing that with my speed.
"If I had the fight now I would go into it totally different. I would be more careful and use my brain more."
Hahaha
Hahaha
Excellent news.

if khan were to beat prescott, it would be instant redemption and put him up further than he was before he got knocked out, ESPECIALLY if he were able to stop prescott.
It's great that Amir want's to fight Prescott again.
He's definately got balls,he should fight him again if he can for redemption.
I mean Amir was in the top ten ratings for the lightweight titles. Now he's dissapeared from the top ten and Bredis Prescott has taken his place.
If he can get the fight then he needs to put on a clinic like Roach said.
It's the only way for him to make a real statement.
This is all talk i doubt that Warren is gonna let his cash cow get sparked again...
That's gonna be a problem for Amir because even though he wants the rematch Frank Warren wont risk it.
I dunno, he didn't seem to bothered the first time did he? I have heard that Warren was quite annoyed at his family and advisors, basically getting a bit too big for thier boots, changing trainers (I think Warren wasn't consulted), the appointment of Rubio, and the selection of Prescott as an opponent (which they did themselves). Khan getting knocked out puts them down a peg or two.
Exactly! Hell no is warren gonna let that happen again...

i think its good he called him out, but to take the fight maybe a little quick.
agree with you pal.
Khan needs to forget about Prescott now. I am sure he is still having nightmares over that jab he got rocked with, never mind the knock out.
of course he should.
The guy knocked him the **** out. Well done Amir Khan.
A real fighter would want a rematch. I respect this, worst things worst he gets KTFO again but it shows he tried and failed and put his arse on the line.
He'll never be a world champion unless he beats Prescott anyway, so he might as well go balls to the wind.
In five years time maybe. If they had a rematch anytime soon the outcome would still be the same.
Khan fans shouldn't worry though. Frank Warren is going to be hand picking soft opponents for the forseeable future and he'll have no problems building his record up to something like 30-1.

The outcome will always be the same.
what is so laughable about wanting to fight a guy that knocked u out? it is admirable and the type of quality in a fighter that makes champions. Hell yes it was a bad knockout, does that mean he should never fight him again?
