i dont think so!
it was disappointing! the highlight of the bout was the 1st round, where jones downed calzaghe.
after that it went down for a few rounds of annoying boasting/trash talking, without anyone really hurting each other...
and the later part was just one sidedly boring...with cal hitting the standing still and nonhitting jones. boring because i never saw cal throw a dangerous punch, any single one in the whole match(even the cut on the brow was just a nice hit nothing staggering). there was a good volume of punches but nothing really hard and solid even though jones was practically blind.:pat:
i was not vying for anyone to win, i was just looking forward for a good exciting match between two big names.sadly i never saw it.
on the good side calzaghe had a good comeback after being down early in the 1st round, and had great defense and an annoyingly good fighting style, nothing exciting though, again a lot of flurries but no solid dangerous punches..
reason i was so hyped to see it was for Jones' showboating. this wasnt a fight though, this was YOU GOT SERVED boxing style, IMO Jones won the showboating Joe looked gay. I also got hyped when Joe would punch but Jones came forward each time, good fight but disappointing to see Jones lose.
I watched it - and watch all the big fights. But, this was not exciting because Calzaghe controlled nigh on all the fight. I actually felt sorry for Jones, considering the way he used to ridicule opponents in his prime. Good luck to Calzaghe and he deserves all the praise, but no-way should this fight have happened. It was ridiculous.
I liked it, it lived up to the hype.. All the 24/7's, the commercials, TV Spots, everything. It had showboating, some toe to toe action, a knockdown and BLOOD!
Remember Mayweather-De La Hoya? That's why I think this was more exciting, all though I did enjoy the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight.

Excisting fight for sure. Very open, hardly any clinching, good exchanges in the centre of the ring and on the ropes. Clean punches, a knockdown, fast combinations, show boating, stand off's. It was a terrific performance from the LHW #1 aswell where he could look good rather than scrape out a win against a negative fighter. It was a good spectacle all in all.
