Lebron James: 6'8" 250 pounds
Can Pavlik beat Lebron in a boxing match? Sure Lebron is an NBA player and Pavlik is a pro boxer so it sounds stupid at first, but think about it. Lebron is a barrel chested and freakishly athletic dude. He doesn't have the lanky and lean build that most basketball players have. If he were to learn some boxing fundamentals I think he could be a tough matchup for anyone. He's a prime athletic specimen. He's got speed, power and is insanely agile. What do you think?

Lebron is a huge guy with alot of speed and atheltic ability. On the court he is dangerous because he has skills to go with his size.
Lebron's size would mean nothing in the boxing ring though when he probably has no boxing experience. There's no way Lebron could beat Pavlik.
Pavlik would destroy him.
If you give Lebron a year to train then maybe I could see it being close. But if you're talking right now, put the two in the ring and see who wins, it would be Pavlik and it's not even a question. Lebron is not used to getting punched in the face, Pavlik hits very hard and I don't see the fight lasting very long.
If Pavlik didn't have to make weight, then he would win a boxing match.
Boxing may look easy, but it damn well isn't. It's the hardest sport in the world.
The kind of injuries you can get and shit is a lot.
You gotta be real tough to make it, it's not like anyone goes pro.
You start off amaatuer, some are crap, and some don't have the bodies to withstand the trianing and damage down and quit.
Then you start off with 10-10 nooby fights.
By the time you're a top world class pro, your body has gone through a lot of weight draning, traning and you're full of scars, pain etc...
Pavlik would win a 12 round fight IMO. He's what, 6 feet 2?
He has power that Lebron won't have felt before. A punch from a nromal guy like me or a neighbour would hurt if you stood there. Imagine a pro?
Boxers are lean, mean fighting amchines. Weight is not an issue. Boxers are quite skinny people.
Look at MMA, they are big for a reason, size is more important and played out.
Boxing is speed, accuracy and endurance, tougness and ehart.
I don't care who you put in front of pavlik, he will beat any basketball player.
Running in a straight line jumping is not boxing.
Sorry but any boxer 160+ and espeically if at natural 175+ can beat any athlete at boxing. It';s not a street fight
Lebron destroys Pavlik on the basketball court. But does the man even know how to properly throw a punch? Pavlik fights for a living, and he would destroy Lebron in the ring.
Pavlik is a boxer, Lebron is not. Therefore using the rules set forth by the Marquess of Queensbury, I think the result is pretty much certain.
Plus, they wouldn't fight, I've seen pictures of them together post-Cavs game they seem friendly.
lebron is a super heavy weight he lands one combo on pavlik hes dead literally
Most people who haven't boxed can't even throw a single punch with any real force behind it let alone a combination. Now the chances of said man landing his "punch" in a boxing ring are so small that I'd say he has next to no chance.
You idiots sure love to underrate professional boxers.
This shit isn't a pickup game of playground ball, it's more then just physique, height, and weight. You cunts don't even know how Lebron would react when Pavlik tapped his chin.
I bet since the Klitschkos are tall they can be the best at basketball and kick Lebron James ass in basketball./sarcasm Its just a stupid ass concept. :dunno:
Exactly, I feel dumb even discussing it lol. The thing is anyone can pick up a bball and play a game, but you can't play boxing and this is why I can't believe people are even saying Lebron would win.

because pavlik is much smaller and slow as hell... Lebron is much quicker than pavlik
So what lol...you're missing one important fact, Pavlik is a professional boxer. Does Lebron know how to slip/block a 1-2-3 combo? Can he throw a hook off the jab? He probably won't have the proper stance to be able to move around the ring...lol this is pointless.
It's not like Lebron is going to dunk on Pavlik in the ring or cross him over lol. This thread really shows how severely overrated King James is.
Basketball players can't fight, you can even tell when they throw those sissy punches at each other when they get into fights with other players. Doesn't really matter though, because Basketball Players aren't suppose to be boxers, they're suppose to be dribblers and people who are great and skillful at shooting through a hoop. I think its pretty dumb to put any basketball player up against a professional boxer. Wow, their big and muscular so what. Boxing is more then just being big and powerful. For one basketball players would probably have a hard time landing on most professional boxers.
Lebron is not even a 90% free-throw shooter, what makes you think he'll be able to land accurate combos on Pavlik let alone on combination?

It's funny how all of you just write everything off with the fact that the punches would be "telegraphed". Do you honestly believe that Lebron wouldn't be able to land a single punch? Lebron is actually faster than Pavlik too, btw.
Yea maybe in running sprints lol...but in the ring the ref isn't going to call 'foul' everytime Pavlik's glove lands on King Jame's face.
Shaq couldn't even beat a shot De la Hoya in a sparring match, keep in mind Shaq weighed 2x more than DLH.
As far as a real fight between Pavlik and Lebron, I would envision Lebron eating straight-right hands like skittles and being KO'd by the end of the first round.
But I understand why you made this thread...since Lebron can't win a championship on the court you were hoping he could maybe win one in the ring LOL. Not gonna happen!
