Even though RJJ had a more exciting style and a better record than Hopkins, Ive never seen B-Hop get completely embarrassed like rjj has in his last 3 L's.
BHop has never been knocked down.
BHop does not lose to Mediocre fighters like Tarver & Glen Johnson.
BHop is always close in a fight and looks good even when he loses.
So with that said Im moving RJJ from number 3 in my top 5 all time to completely off of the list. I will always remember him as a failure now.
Well thats Roys fault for not knowing when to quit. I would have advised him to take a year or two off after the John Ruiz fight. He needed to get back in shape and get his head straight before jumping in with Tarver so quickly. Once you get that 1st L it becomes contaigous and you begin to doubt yourself.
Roy Jones from 1990-2003 was the Goat, the bling, the rap albums, fame and the weight fluctuations did him in.
Yup. It is a big mistake Roy made. My dad just said, too bad Roy didn't retire after Tito. Roy made the mistake of getting too ambitious about his comeback. But if fairness alot of great fighters have the made the same mistake...it happens in boxing. I wish it didn't happen to Roy...

BHOP HAS been knocked down, more than once, and he doesnt even look good when he wins (most of the time)
Roy's real loses came from ages 35-39. If your going to judge a fighter by ages 35-39, thats funny to me. Only a select few have been successful late in their careers, most go down hill around their mid thirties. Its like that in basketball too....
Can't give you anymore green.
So lets just get stoned. :439:

1. Fernando Vargas
2. Ricardo Mayorga
3. Muhammad Ali
4. Mike Tyson
5. Arturo Gatti
This is probaly what my list looks like.
Jones would be around 7-8.
bhop has been knocked down...
Yeah that was funny when he said that, since it was bhops most famous fight too. He was knocked down and came back to draw that one guy... Don't know his name though

Roy is my favourite all time fighter and always will be. Sure he got beat badly the other night but the only thing you can hold against him is that he did not know when to hang them up.
That's completely true, if you have ever seen Holmes-Ali, you should know better than to judge a man who now only inhabits the body that made him a legend.
I think Bernard Hopkins being this badass in his 40's has spoiled everyone. Almost all greats decline drastically in their late 30's, you can't judge them on those performances.
