His resume is still weak for prime opponents. That being said, I'm done bashing Joe. He really impressed me last night. He's an akward guy all the way around, but there's no more calling this guy overrated. Joe Calzaghe has earned my respect.

Indeed, he's earned my respect as well.
I was pumped when Roy dropped him in that first round, but as usual Calzaghe stayed strong and made adjustments. His straight left is the only punch of his that seems to hurt his opponents and his combinations are mostly for just scoring points. With that said though he is quick and has really good reflexes as he was slipping a lot of Roy's punches. He's a smart fighter no doubt about that and at anytime seems to make quick adjustments and combine that with his awkwardness, durability and great stamina he's really tough to beat.
I prefer a boxer to sit on his punches and throw them with violent intentions. Calzaghe's pitter patter at the very least neutralizes his opponent ability to punch and makes them uncomfortable, which was very apparent in the last four fights of Joe's I watched live. I have to say I'm sold after this fight and seeing what B-Hop did to Pavlik. Next weeks taylor/lacy fight is going to be a very interesting matchup.
If you've followed Calslappy's career for any length of time you'd see that he's really shown everything. He has the skill to outbox, the pop to out power and the workrate to outwork and in every fight he's done the thing that left him in the best position. He's looked shit against opponents that other guys would dominate but he's dominated against opponents that other guys would struggle with.
I've seen him get up of the floor to win several times, I've seen him break his hand and win with the jab, and much as he's a cunto who showboats a bit too much he certainly has the ability. It's pretty ludicrous to suggest that he hasn't/

Well said. And I'm perfectly fine with him retiring, Dawson or not.
I have to say he was annoyingly good. I've been cunting off Calzaghe like a good'un the last few weeks but it isn't that i hate Calzaghe, it's the fact that deep down i knew he was in a strong position to put another nail in Roy's coffin, and as a Roy Jones fan, that was a hard pill to swallow. Roy however did me proud.
Thats the thing Joe calazghe is actually a great skillful boxer, He just hasnt been able to showcase his talent early on like he should have for one reason or the other.
I which he was under 30 so that we can really see more of him.
IF any one knows me on this forum, they know that I have a hatred for JOE..
But his performance was impressive.. He had too much movement for ROY to throw anything..
I hate his fans.. But Joe was pretty good last night..
However, It wouldve been a different fight if we saw them in their primes and we all tho that..
And that's what he was fighting for. I'm sure he can sleep well tonight.
To be fair, that IS what he was fighting for.
He has made his money, he wanted the long overdue respect of American critics.

Much respect, it takes a big man to admit they were wrong.
