We all know the story of what happens when you go up in weight putting on some added muscle and whatnot to makeup for lack of true physicality. After Manny wins or loses against Oscar, having to then shed off all the new muscle and conditioned weight he's putting on will be his downfall when he attempts to drop back down to 135 or 140lbs. He already mentioned they wanna go to 140lbs after this fight and most likely for Hatton. But who knows how the reduction in muscle mass will effect Manny as it has so many others.
He doesn't need to put on any muscle or additional weight whatsoever. For his fights at 130 he came in at 144 on fight night. All he has to do is not drain himself, and that can only help him. He will have even more energy than he usually does.
He's going on a RJJ route... sad...
No he's not Roy put on 25 pounds or so of muscle to get to heavy. Pacman is just fighting at his natural weight instead of 135. He might put on a few pounds of muscle but nothing to worry about. He was weight drained before as well. Peace
I am sad to say that I cant see the Pacquiao story getting any better from here on out. That was what really killed me when I heard he was fighting Oscar: I believed in Pacman, I thought he could clean up LW and maybe even KO Hatton, and I was looking forward to seeing him try. IMHO De La Hoya is gonna KO Pac, and when he moves back down in weight he will never be the same again.
I hope I am wrong, but I dont see anymore great Pac moments in the future.
It's easier when you are younger and as long as he takes his time, and hires the proper people to take care of him, he should be OK, but it's still something I wouldn't chance.
How much is he adding from his last fight?
this is what im afraid of. lets hope he can make 135 for a big fight with marquez but i think he'll only be able to make 140 for hatton thus i think marquez will try to chase him up there get a belt and probably force it.
