If he came back and say, whipped Margarito for 12 rounds for a dominant win, and then decided he would fight again, yeah I would.
It all depends on the opponent though. If he were to come back for a rematch with a victorious DLH, I might not be so impressed. As long as he got a dominant win over a tip top guy, I would give it to him.
he would need to beat a serious contender in convincing fashion. i don't think he was ever p4p better than pac though.
Come on now - P4P Floyd would eat Pac alive. That's hardly an arguable statement.
He's been inactive for less than a year. If you thought he was the p4p best before why wouldn't you think him to be now?!?!?
My thoughts exactly. Nobody since his retirement, has done anything to knock him off the top spot other than potentially Pacman should he slay the giant. IF, however, he stays retired for too long, I agree he needs to re-cement his spot. But as this poster said, it hasn't been long enough to take him off of it IMO.
for me if a fighter doesnt fight in a period of a year, then he doesnt belong on the rankings anymore.
on the case of mayweather he retired, so thats why he was taken out a while ago.
but no...one year is too long
Of course you guys will say he has to work his way back to the top but he will definitely come back as a top 1-4.... but I would be surprised if he was actually placed at 4 by any of the media..
The media would just use it as "(Has) The King Returned" or sumthin and he would be Simba and placed at number 1.
HA HA simba....thats a good comparsion. i see what you saying....no matter what people are gonna put him in the top 4 regraless

If he came back tommorow he still wouldn't fight for nearly 6 months. He was p4p best before, but by the skin of his teeth. Between handpicking money fights and not fighting the best in his division his status as the best was falling. You can't be the best unless you are continually beating the best.
i say let balboa and little floyd come out of retirement and fight at a catchweight.
now this one will blow away the sales
on the other thought.....Junior did fight Big Show. Balboa wont need to loose any pounds. that stallion is gonna ride into town and once again the star will shine baby
He can make it back to the list Im sure he can get some great fights....taking Bertos belt for instance would be like taking candy from a babay for Floyd. Im puzzled why he stays retired.
Put him back at the top of the P4P list??
If not where would u put him??
i wouldnt put him anywhere until after his first fight back and it matters on WHO he fights and HOW GOOD HE LOOKS in the win (if he does win).
i wont put him on the top spot regardless...one fight isnt going to do it unless its really that meaningful of a fight (like he comes back to fight margarito or cotto or pacquiao) i wouldnt put him on the top of the list by beating andre berto...
does he belong on the p4p list? yes...just not the top spot without fighting the best of the best...

Hell no!! Vitaly shouldn't have been allowed back and just up and fight for a title, and Mayweather shouldn't be on any p4p list after this long an absence without at least beating a top contender in his weight class. There shouldn't be special exceptions for any fighter.
Oh for sure. He should be 1-3 top p4p guy if he comes back in the next year or so.
But dont u think its a little unfair on the rest of the fighters on the list, i mean most of em have been active!? Dont get me wrong, i m a Mayweather fan but i cant see a reason why he should just walk back into the sport and be called the best again after not fighting for a yr (and more)...
