According to 24/7 Roy took a break from training because he said he could "...Go 15 rounds..." about 2 weeks or so out from the fight. He said he needed to go home to throw himself off and set himself back. He said himself he didn't need to be like that that far out from fight night. Now, I'm no fighter, but that can't be good. Also, his sparring partners looked sub-par. Local California, PA fighters? This might be a ploy from the cagey vet to throw anybody who may be watching from the Calzaghe camp off, but it doesn't sound good if it's true. I hope he's pulling a Ruiz and has a trick up his sleeve.
ur stuck on a knockout that happened after coming down from heavyweight...lol........ were u that bothered by the prime superman jones???? lol... it will be ok
:bottle:
what are you blabbing about?
Im asking how his preparation has been since coming down. He has been KO'D TWICE and lost three times since then..
Yeah but he didnt have to fight that soon......
whats the REASON for the KO loss in that fight then or his not so Superman performances since?
Well hes pretty darn old. not everybodys b-hop lol

because he got punched in the jaw?
roy is not an idiot, contrary to popular belief... hes trained for 56 pro fights, he knows exactly what he needs to do to be prepared
No he's not. However,it is worth reminding, he did make one catastrophic misjudgment in his career, that really degraded his physical tools as a fighter.
theres no other way to lose that weight other then lose water and muscle...
if ur 200 pounds of all muscle and no fat, how else are you gonna get to 175?
its not an excuse, its a reason.

"Got any excuses tonight Roy? "
apparently his training was in question after the first Tarver fight. Losing the muscle. But I guess that was the ONLY time he had to do that do it so it affected him.
I saw Nate Campbell spar with guys like Abi Santizo and Ibahiem King, then turn around and whoop Juan Diaz's behind. It's not the sparring, it's the work.
exactly... roy knows how to fight.. he doesnt need to learn anything new... he just needs young guys who arent gonna get off him so he can work hard for 12 rounds

possibly showing a lack of discipline on rjj's part. he's not as focused as he should be.

I agree, just pointing out the fact that a lot of pro athletes, no matter what the sport, peak too soon. It happens to the experienced and novice.
