Can we stop with the "Bernard Hopkins fought his first fight at 175 therefore it was his natural weight" bullshit?
If I remember correctly he actually fought his first fight at LHW because of a mistake by his management. He was actually filthy with his team for putting him in there at LHW and took an extended break from boxing as a result.
When you fight at Middleweight until you're 41, you're a middleweight! NO questions asked.
I'd say he was a career middleweight but probably a natural 175 lber.
Good knowledge Dan, cheers. I always wondered about Hopkins first fight apparently being at LHW. One fight is hardly a big deal anyway. I'm sure it's a revelation to many it was not by choice, an accident by his team..he had to gain weight and take time out, which seems to have actually been the case.

John Scully would disagree. I remember him saying Bernard was ALWAYS a cut-down light heavy.
